It must be said—Zhan Wei is an exceptionally capable person. The founder of Yangtai deeply admired and trusted him, even going so far as to transfer half of the company’s shares to Zhan Wei. Now, Zhan Wei has the final say in all company matters, big and small.

The founder, meanwhile, no longer concerns himself with operations—he simply waits to collect profits.

He has no daughter. If he did, he would’ve wanted to marry her off to Zhan Wei.

After Yangtai became one of the major players in Yangcheng, it found itself locked in rivalry with the Lan Group. Zhan Wei was well aware that Yangtai had nearly gone bankrupt due to the Lan Group’s actions.

Every time he encountered the Lan Group’s vice president, the two of them clashed. They always showed the worst side of themselves to each other.

In Yangcheng, it’s common knowledge that the two are sworn enemies.

Anyone hosting a banquet who invites Miss Lan will be sure not to invite Zhan Wei, for fear that a confrontation will erupt, turning the event into a scene and placing the host in an awkward situation.

Clients who work with the Lan Group sometimes switch to Yangtai, and vice versa. The competition between the two companies is intense and ongoing—a nonstop business war.

Consumers, meanwhile, secretly look forward to this war, especially hoping for a price war. That way, they benefit by getting high-quality goods at lower prices.

Rumor has it that Miss Lan once bribed someone inside Yangtai to secretly destroy the lucky bamboo and money tree in Zhan Wei’s office.

Zhan Wei is from Dongguan City, where it’s common for businesspeople to grow lucky bamboo and money trees, and place statues of Guan Gong or the God of Wealth in their offices—symbols believed to attract fortune from all directions.

Touching these symbols of prosperity is considered a serious offense, akin to stabbing a person’s heart. It’s enough to make someone lose their composure and explode with rage.

In short, Zhan Wei and Lan Ruoruo are mortal enemies. The grudge between them is so deep, it seems impossible to resolve in this lifetime—unless one of them completely exits the business world.

As she passed by, Lan Ruoruo simply nodded in response to her employees’ greetings, saying nothing.

Moments later, she stepped into the elevator and rode it straight to the top floor.

Her vice president’s office was on the same floor as the president’s.

The president of the Lan Group was Lan Ruoruo’s eldest brother, and their grandfather served as chairman.

Their grandfather adored his grandchildren, especially Lan Ruoruo and her brother. As his first grandson and granddaughter, they held a special place in his heart. When the younger grandchildren were born, Grandpa Lan was happy—but not as ecstatic as he’d been with the first two.

Both Lan Ruoruo and her brother were competent and deeply trusted by their grandfather. In the company, one served as president and the other as vice president—their positions far outranked those of their cousins.
Lan Ruoruo and her brother were both highly capable and earned the full trust of their grandfather. In the company, one served as president and the other as vice president—their status was far above that of their cousins.

“Vice President.”

The secretary saw Lan Ruoruo return and quickly stepped forward to greet her.

Lan Ruoruo responded with a cold hum and said, “If you have anything to say, save it for later. I need some quiet time.”

The secretary hesitated for a moment, then simply nodded and said, “Okay.”

She watched as Lan Ruoruo walked into her office.

Lan Ruoruo sat down at her desk, leaned back in her chair, and began slowly swiveling it back and forth. Her gaze was fixed straight ahead, yet unfocused—no one could tell what was on her mind.

After an unknown period of silence, her phone buzzed.

It was a message.

The number was familiar, though not saved in her contacts. It was Zhan Wei’s phone number.

She knew his number, his address, and many other details about him.

When dealing with an enemy, one must know both oneself and the opponent to secure victory.

Lan Ruoruo opened the message.

“The swelling on my face hasn’t completely gone down, old aunt. You owe me a meal to make up for the pain.”

Zhan Wei was actually asking her to treat him to dinner.

If she invited him, would he really dare to show up and eat?

Wasn’t he afraid she’d spike the food with laxatives?
