“As soon as summer vacation began, the noise became overwhelming, so they were sent for training.”

Serenity smiled and said no more.

“Honey, I’ll be busy for a while. When I get home from work this evening, we can video chat again.”

“Alright, call me when you’re home. If it’s early, I’ll let you talk to the baby. If it’s late, you’ll just have to chat with me.”

Zachary smiled and replied, “I’d rather chat with you.”

He waited for Serenity to say “kiss me” over the phone before ending the call, clearly satisfied.

Zachary didn’t return to the conference room—the meeting was almost over, so there was no need.

Yichen and Sunan could handle the rest just fine.

In high spirits, he got up and made himself a cup of coffee.

When his wife and children aren’t around, he tends to work late into the night. That way, when they return, he can clear a few days to spend with them and take the kids out.

On weekends, he and his wife enjoy road trips, bringing their two children along to explore the world.

“That kid is so mischievous. During the holidays, he spends the whole day tearing things apart—and he can’t put anything back together. I’ve already packed away all my valuables just to keep them safe from him.”

“He even destroyed my dad’s antique collection. His face turned pitch black, but he didn’t scold the kid at all. If I had broken it, he would’ve beaten me half to death.”

“But now Dad won’t even let that boy near the antiques. Those things are worth a fortune, and if one breaks, it’s not just a loss—it could bankrupt me too.”

That’s right. His son broke the antiques, and while his father couldn’t bring himself to discipline his grandson, he still demanded compensation—from his son.

The kid was thrilled while wreaking havoc, completely unaware of the financial pain his father felt while footing the bill.
