Married at First Sight Chapter 4502
Zhan Wei stood still, holding a child in each arm, making no move to follow. He had no intention of eavesdropping on her conversation with Serenity.
When she glanced at him, he responded with a gentle smile.
Lan Ruoruo shivered slightly, quickly averting her eyes, and said to Serenity, “Sister Tong, what you said makes some sense, but I still feel like this is a trap. You’re Zhan Wei’s sister-in-law, so of course you’d take his side and help him set me up.”
“Ruoruo, you’re being naive. I always stand by what’s right—I don’t take sides, not even with family. I would never team up with Zhan Wei to scheme against you.”
“I just told him to treat girls more gently. Even if you don’t get along, you’re still a girl. He probably started by picking on you.”

“But really, no matter how he acts, you’ll just have to get used to it.”
“Come on. The more you fear his gentleness, the more he’ll use it against you.”
Serenity grabbed Lan Ruoruo and led her away. After a few steps, she turned back to Zhan Wei and called, “Seventh Brother, bring the kids and follow us.”
She hadn’t brought a nanny, so she asked Zhan Wei to help care for the children. This also gave Lan Ruoruo a chance to see how patient he was with kids—something that would definitely work in his favor.
Zhan Wei picked up Bei Bei and reached for his nephew’s hand, but Zhan Muchen pulled back, refusing.
“Seventh Uncle,” Zhan Muchen whispered, “why is my mom so close to Aunt Lan? Aunt Lan even hit you once, and you said you two are sworn enemies.”
“We’re family, so we should be on your side. Since Aunt Lan is your enemy, doesn’t that make her our enemy too? Why is Mom being so nice to her?”
Zhan Muchen was clearly baffled by his beautiful mother’s behavior.
Zhan Wei glanced at the two women walking ahead. After a pause, he said softly, “Baby, a woman’s heart is like a needle lost in the sea. Uncle Qi doesn’t know what your mom is thinking either.”
“Anyway, let’s just follow them and make sure we don’t upset anyone, okay?”
Zhan Muchen nodded. “Uncle Qi, I understand. Dad always says not to upset Mom. If she gets angry, the whole family’s in trouble.”
“Dad is clearly stronger than Mom, but he’s still afraid of her. Whenever Mom looks serious, Dad gets nervous.”
Zhan Wei smiled. “Your father isn’t afraid of your mother—he cherishes her. When you grow up and fall in love, you’ll understand him.”
“That’s the beauty of your father’s love for his wife. It’s something worth learning from.”
Zhan Muchen recalled how several of his uncles seemed to fear his aunt, and even Grandpa and his two uncles were the same. Whenever Grandma was unhappy, Grandpa would get anxious.
He suddenly asked, “Seventh Uncle, is this a tradition for the men in our Zhan family?”
“Yes, yes, it’s a proud tradition among the men of the Zhan family,” Zhan Wei replied with a chuckle.
“Oh, I get it now. I’ll follow my dad and uncles and make sure to carry on this glorious Zhan family tradition.”
Zhan Wei praised him, “Our little guy is really clever—you’ve figured it out perfectly.”
“Uncle Qi, when will you find us a Seventh Aunt?”
“My great-grandmother always says that you, Eighth Uncle, and Ninth Uncle are still single. She told me that if I meet you, I should ask when I’ll get a Seventh Aunt.”
Zhan Wei silently grumbled about his grandmother. Why would she talk about this in front of a child? The kid is still so young—what does he know?
He must not make fun of his uncle…
He answered, “Seventh Uncle hasn’t earned enough yet to marry you an Aunt Seven. Once I’ve saved enough money to do that, I promise I’ll find you one.”
Zhan Muchen asked, “So Uncle Qi’s wife costs money? How much? My sister and I have money—we can lend you some.”
