“Sister-in-law, Lan Ruoruo gave me a set of clothes.”

He held up the bag like it was a treasure, beaming from ear to ear.

“Didn’t Ruoruo say she bought something for her brother? She got one for you too?”

“I’m not sure. Anyway, she said this set was for me—called it a reward for my hard work. But I think she just used that as an excuse. I suspect she’s hinting that she has other feelings for me.”

“I mean, I’m such an outstanding guy, and she knows me so well—how could she possibly resist my charm?”

Serenity was speechless. It was obvious he liked Lan Ruoruo, yet he made it sound like she couldn’t resist him. If Lan Ruoruo heard that, she’d probably take back the clothes and toss them out rather than let him keep them.

Zhan Wei took the clothes out of the bag, tried them on, and said, “Sister-in-law, I have to admit, Lan Ruoruo has good taste. These suit me perfectly.”

“Not all black suits are the same, but as long as the size is right, there’s not much difference. You brothers all prefer black or navy suits anyway.”

“Why doesn’t anyone like white suits? Don’t you think they look more stylish? Like a prince from a fairy tale—sure to charm many Snow Whites.”

Zhan Wei replied, “I still prefer black. But since you think white suits look more handsome, you’ve bought a few for my brother and made him wear them.”

“I just worry you’ll have more romantic rivals because of that. But don’t blame my brother—he’s just too charming. Still, he loves you deeply, and he’d never betray you.”

“I bought a white suit for your eldest brother. He only wears it occasionally. Most of the time, he still chooses black.”

“Seventh Brother,” Serenity said, “putting aside your disagreements with Ruoruo, don’t you think she’s a really good girl?”
“She’s very capable. Even though she and I are sworn enemies, I have to admit she’s outstanding. I’ve seen many wealthy young women in Yangcheng, but few are as impressive as she is.”

“She’s strong, but not overbearing. She has a powerful presence, yet she never bullies anyone. Even with her opponents, she remains courteous. Whatever bad side she shows seems reserved just for me. Maybe she’s jealous that I’m better than her.”

“In short, Lan Ruoruo is remarkable. If I hadn’t become one of Yangtai’s bosses, I might have accepted her offer when she tried to poach me with a generous salary—and then… we might not have become enemies.”
