“I decided not to tell you after all,” I said, nibbling on my lower lip.

“Why would you think I was done with you?” he asked.

“You’ve been ignoring me for the past couple of weeks,” I said.

“I can hardly see you anymore…” I said quietly.

“I already told you, I’ve been busy,” he replied through clenched teeth.

I nodded, understanding.

“I know…” I whispered back. “I just… I don’t know…”

He stayed quiet for a moment, and I felt a bit awkward, so I cleared my throat.

“I should get back…” I said, pointing to the door. As I started to walk past him, he grabbed my arm again, stopping me in my tracks.

When he spoke, his voice was low and smooth, sending shivers down my spine from how close he was.

Alpha Levi stared at the door that Judy had just walked through.

He knew she was going to check on Gavin. He also understood that she would come up with some excuse for her table, like saying she needed to go to the bathroom or something similar.
