Seducing My Ex's Father In Law Chapter 470
Judy’s POV
“What do you mean she’s working against your family? I know she’s been talking to Ethan behind your back, but does that really mean she’s working with him?” Gavin asked, his voice calm and measured.
When Nan sent me that photo of Ethan and Sammy talking in the coffee shop, I had shown it to Gavin not long after.
“Tabby and some of the others are back at the mansion,” I explained. “They came to tell me they suspect Sammy might be some kind of spy.”
“That’s a serious accusation,” he said, his tone darkening as his brows drew together. He studied my face, looking for any trace of doubt or dishonesty.

“Since she got here, Sammy’s been acting strange. Secret phone calls, disappearing at all hours, suspicious behavior…”
“What kind of suspicious behavior?” he asked.
I bit my lower lip.
“I caught her going through my things the other night,” I admitted. “Stuff like that…”
His eyes darkened at my words. I could tell he was not only processing the information but also doing his best to stay composed.
“I was so caught up in the competition, I didn’t notice at first,” I went on. “But Tabby did. She, Sherry, and Chuck are all from the same pack, and they’ve gotten closer since the competition. Tabby confided in Sherry about Sammy’s odd behavior. And since Sherry works as a pack investigator, she agreed to help Tabby look into it after the competition ended.”
Gavin listened intently, nodding as I spoke, his expression growing more intense with every word.
“Why am I just hearing about this now?” he asked, his eyes searching mine.
“Because I just found out,” I replied honestly. “Tabby didn’t tell me anything until today. That’s why she’s here now. They kept their word and started looking into Sammy right after the competition.”
“And what did they find? Proof she’s a spy?” Gavin asked.
I shook my head.
“Not proof. But it’s suspicious. She’s been meeting with Ethan in secret. I think she’s working for him, Gavin. I think he’s trying to stir up trouble for my family again… trying to make me need him. And he’s using someone I thought was my friend to do it…” My voice cracked, and tears welled up in my eyes.
“You don’t know that for sure though, do you?” Gavin asked gently. He brought his hands to my face, his thumb brushing my cheek. Though his eyes still held that serious intensity, I also saw worry and compassion behind them, and it made my heart skip a beat.
“That’s the thing… no one really knows anything,” I admitted softly. “Her background—family, pack, friends—there’s nothing. It’s like her entire personal history has been erased. On purpose.”
Gavin went quiet as he processed that, his thumb continuing to stroke my cheek absentmindedly. The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down my spine, and for the first time since seeing that photo of Sammy and Ethan, my wolf finally felt calm. Gavin had that effect on her—something grounding, something safe. I didn’t fully understand it, but I was grateful for it.
I hated how much Ethan still affected her. The pain of him being with other women didn’t sting like it once did, but just seeing him still left an impact.
The idea of Sammy and Ethan working together had shaken her badly. But being with Gavin—feeling his attention, his arms, his warmth—it calmed her in a way I couldn’t explain.
“Did they find anything else?” Gavin asked at last, breaking the silence. “Anything useful?”
I nodded.
“When I met Sammy at the airport for the competition, she told me she had a boyfriend competing too. He was in a different group, so I never saw him. I was too focused on competing to notice anything off. But Tabby and Sherry found out he didn’t exist. She made him up. She was there for another reason—and now, with Ethan also having been there, and Sammy showing up here… it’s too much to be a coincidence. I really believe she’s working for him, Gavin…”
“Okay, calm down,” Gavin said when he heard the panic rising in my voice. His tone was soothing, his gaze softening. “Whatever she’s after, I won’t let it happen. I need you to trust me—can you do that?”
I nodded without hesitation.
“Yes. Of course,” I whispered. “I trust you.”
A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, his usually guarded expression softening just slightly before returning to its usual intensity.
He let go of my face, and I instantly felt the cold in his absence. He picked up his phone, swiped across the screen, and brought it to his ear.
