Seducing My Ex's Father In Law Chapter 473
Judy’s POV
“What?” Gavin asked, his eyes dark and stormy as he stared down at Matt. “What are you talking about?”
“She told me… she’s the one who put the peanut butter in my sandwich,” Matt murmured. “She tried to kill me, and everyone knew… didn’t they?”
My heart broke at the accusation in his voice. I had my suspicions about Irene, but I never confirmed them—not to Matt. It wasn’t my place to say anything. He was just a child, and I knew the truth would destroy him. I didn’t want to break his heart. As far as he knew, a maid had tried to harm him—nothing more. But now he knew the truth. Irene couldn’t live with what she’d done.
“Irene told you this?” Gavin asked, his tone growing sharp.

Matt nodded, tears forming in his eyes.
“Why would she do that? And why would you hide it from me?” he asked Gavin before turning to me. “Did you know too?”
I hesitated, and the hurt that flashed in his eyes hit me like a blow. My silence said it all. He knew now—and the weight of it pushed him to his breaking point, triggering his first shift. I hated seeing him in so much pain… I hated that it had come to this.
“I’m so sorry, Matt,” I said, tears brimming in my eyes. “I didn’t want you to find out because I didn’t want you to get hurt. I didn’t want you to see her differently.”
“She’s not my sister,” Matt muttered, crossing his arms. The anguish in his eyes was unbearable, and I had to fight the urge to go to him.
“We know you’re angry,” Gavin said, his voice unusually calm. “You need time to cool down before you see Irene again.”
“I don’t ever want to see her again,” Matt growled, his eyes glowing yellow as his wolf began to surface.
“Calm down,” Gavin commanded, trying to take control. “You’re not going to shift here.”
Matt drew in a few shaky breaths. His wolf was rising, but Gavin’s words grounded him. His eyes returned to normal, and he slumped, disheveled and shaken.
“What’s happening to me?” Matt whispered, his voice cracking, eyes glistening.
Gavin placed a hand on Matt’s shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile.
“You’re going through something no other eight-year-old has ever experienced,” Gavin said gently. “It’s going to take time to adjust, but you’re not alone. And trust me—you’re safe now. No matter what happened with Irene, no one is ever going to hurt you like that again. I won’t let it happen.”
There was a weight to his words, an intensity that hadn’t been there before. I could sense a deeper meaning behind them, and it made me wonder what he was really thinking.
Matt nodded, his eyes heavy with exhaustion.
“You should get some sleep,” Gavin said, ruffling Matt’s messy hair with a surprising tenderness. It was an unexpectedly fatherly gesture that caught me off guard. Gavin wasn’t usually affectionate—especially not with Matt or Irene—so seeing it was… comforting.
“Okay,” Matt murmured.
“I can give you something to help you rest,” Eliza offered, glancing up from her clipboard. I had forgotten she was even there, and her voice startled me for a moment.
Matt gave another small nod as Gavin tucked him in, carefully adjusting the blanket to make sure he was comfortable.
After Eliza administered the medication, she turned to Gavin.
“Can we talk in the hallway?” she asked.
He nodded, then looked over at me.
“Will you stay with him for a minute?” he asked, his eyes holding a rare vulnerability that tugged at my heart.
“Of course,” I said softly.
He gave me a grateful look before following Eliza out of the room.
I turned to Matt, who was watching me closely. The medication had started to take effect—his eyes were heavier now—but something was keeping him awake, lingering just beneath the surface.
“You should really try to sleep,” I told him, sitting at the edge of the bed. “You’ve been through a lot today. Your body needs to rest.”
“Do you think my wolf will ever forgive her?” Matt whispered, his gaze locked on mine. “He’s so angry—I can feel it. He only backed down because an Alpha told him to… but he wants to kill her, Judy. He hates her for what she did…”
