Seducing My Ex's Father In Law Chapter 474
I gave him a sad smile.
“I think, in time, your wolf will learn to forgive her,” I said honestly. “But it’s not something you can force. You just learned something heartbreaking, and it’s going to take time to process. For now, sit with it—but don’t forget that there are people who love you and will always protect you.”
He stayed quiet for a while before letting out a soft sigh.
“You know what’s funny?” he said, his gaze shifting away for a moment before returning to mine. “I’m mostly angry because she tried to frame you…”
His words struck something deep inside me.

“You are?” I asked, surprised.
He nodded.
“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to this family, Judy. Because of you… I’m better at combat, better at school. I’m making my dad proud. He’s home more. He smiles. He’s happy. It feels like… like we’re a real family now.”
“You’ve always been a real family, Matt,” I told him gently.
He shook his head.
“It wasn’t like this before. My dad was barely ever home. He didn’t smile. He treated us like employees, not kids. But now everything’s different… and it’s because of you,” he said. “So the idea that Irene nearly ruined all of that…”
He closed his eyes, clearly fighting his emotions. The sleep medication was helping him relax, but I could still sense his wolf simmering beneath the surface.
“It makes me—and my wolf—angry,” he whispered.
I placed my hand over his and gave him a reassuring smile.
“No matter what’s happened or what might’ve happened, nothing will ever change how I feel about you, Matt. I’d find a way to stay in your life. I’ve grown to love your family. You’re stuck with me now—you won’t get rid of me that easily.”
He was silent for a moment, letting my words sink in.
“Can I ask you something?” he said, his eyes searching mine.
“Of course. You can ask me anything,” I replied.
He yawned, and I could tell sleep was finally taking hold. “Do you love my father?”
My heart began to race. I glanced toward the small window in the door and saw Gavin speaking intently with Eliza. His body was tense as he listened, absorbed in the conversation. Even in a moment like this, I couldn’t help but notice how good he looked—there was never a time he didn’t. I bit my lower lip, watching him. But it wasn’t just about his looks. These past few weeks had shown me another side of him. That date we shared… how he defended me at his mother’s dinner party… the quiet moments we’ve had, the way he calms my wolf without even trying—it all meant something.
So many emotions had been building over the past few weeks, but with Matt’s heavy question lingering in my mind, I found myself wondering if the feelings bubbling inside me included love.
Matt’s eyes were now closed; he had fallen asleep before hearing my answer, and part of me felt a pang of guilt. I wondered if he would remember asking when he woke up.
Gavin stepped into the room after his talk with Eliza, and his expression softened when he saw Matt sleeping.
“Thank you,” he said gently, reaching for my hand. I took it without hesitation.
Our fingers fit perfectly together, and a spark of electricity shot through me, sending goosebumps across my arms.
I met his eyes, my cheeks warming as Matt’s question echoed in my mind—visible to me but hidden from Gavin.
“Of course,” I replied, my voice breathier than I intended.
He studied my face for a moment, and then a soft smile spread across his lips. “Ready to go?” he asked. “I was hoping to have some time alone with you tonight.”
My cheeks flushed deeper at his words, and I nodded as he led me toward the door. He didn’t let go of my hand, walking backward with a playful smirk before finally turning to walk forward.
Back to Matt’s question…
Did I love his father?
The answer was simple.
Yes.
