Seducing My Ex's Father In Law Chapter 477
“Did you think I wouldn’t?” I asked him gently.
He gave a small shrug.
“I knew Dad would come back, but I didn’t think you would,” he admitted. “But I’m glad you’re here. Doctor Pierce said I can leave later today since my vitals are stable.”
Eliza nodded, a warm expression in her eyes.
“It’s true. He’s doing much better after a full night of rest. His wolf is strong and will need a powerful Alpha to help guide and train him. Thankfully, his father happens to be the strongest Alpha in the world.”
“Is there anything else we need to know?” Gavin asked. My ears perked at the word we. Was he talking about us—me and him—as if we were a couple? As if Matt was our son?

The thought made my heart swell, and even my wolf seemed content with the idea, solidifying the emotions I had been trying to make sense of. This wasn’t just lust. This wasn’t a temporary game.
I was falling in love with him.
“As I said yesterday, just try not to trigger his wolf’s anger, and you should be fine for now,” Eliza replied.
Gavin nodded.
Before anyone could say more, his phone began to ring. He sighed as he pulled it from his pocket and glanced at the screen, his expression shifting into a deeper frown.
Turning away from Matt, he answered in a low voice.
“This isn’t a good time, Irene.”
Matt’s ears perked at the name, and my heart dropped at the sound of it. Gavin’s brows drew together as he listened intently, his jaw tightening. Her voice carried from the phone speaker—frantic and high-pitched—and I could instantly tell something was wrong. Whatever she was saying, it was serious.
“What are you talking about?” he asked, his tone darkening.
Now it was my brows furrowing. There was real concern in his voice and etched across his face. His whole demeanor shifted.
“On my way,” he said abruptly and ended the call.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
He was already typing something on his phone. Once he hit send, he slid it back into his pocket and turned to me.
“We need to get back to the villa,” he said firmly, then looked at Matt. “Taylor will be here once you’re ready to be discharged. He’ll take you home.”
Matt frowned, clearly confused and concerned.
“You’re leaving?” he asked, sounding a bit heartbroken. I was caught between feeling guilty for leaving him and anxious about whatever was happening back at the villa.
“I’m sorry, but yes,” Gavin said, running a hand through his hair. “There’s an emergency at home that I need to take care of.”
“I can always stay with him, if needed,” I offered, keeping my voice low so only Gavin could hear.
“I’d rather you come with me,” he said. “I think I’m going to need you for this.”
I raised my brows at him, but I didn’t argue. I simply nodded, my cheeks warming. It felt good to know he needed me.
Gavin said goodbye to Matt, and we left quickly.
The car ride back to the villa was silent. My heart was pounding in my chest as I wondered what could be going on. Gavin wouldn’t say anything; he kept repeating that we’d talk once we were back. I didn’t press him—not when he was like this. But deep down, I knew this had something to do with Irene.
I remembered the time she threatened to hurt herself when Gavin refused to let her court Ethan. Now that she was single, I couldn’t help but wonder if she’d followed through on that threat.
The thought made my stomach churn.
When we arrived, Gavin parked and waited for me to get out before leading the way straight to the front door.
As soon as we stepped inside, he called out her name.
“She’s in the parlor,” Alex said, his face unreadable and stiff.
Gavin gave him a quick nod, and we made our way toward the parlor. But the second we stepped inside, both of us stopped in our tracks. My face went pale.
Irene was sitting on the couch, holding something in her arms—and when my eyes landed on what she was holding, my blood ran cold…
