Seducing My Ex's Father In Law Chapter 482
Judy’s POV
If someone had told me a few days ago that I’d be moving back in with my parents after almost a year of living at the Landry mansion, I would have laughed. Yet here I was, unloading the last of my boxes into my childhood bedroom. Despite the fact that my parents had once sold this house to the Cash family — only for Gavin to buy it back — my room remained exactly the same. It was obvious the Cash family had only purchased the home out of spite; they had planned to tear it down. I doubted they even set foot inside these walls, and the thought of it infuriated me.
Beta Taylor and Gamma Eric had helped carry my things in, but they had already left by the time I brought the last box inside.
I stood there, lost in thought, staring around the room that had once been my sanctuary. Now it felt more like a graveyard for the person I used to be. I wasn’t the same girl who had lived here during high school. My eyes drifted over the photos decorating the walls — not just pictures of me and Nan, but of me and Ethan too. Frozen moments from a time when I believed I was with my forever person — someone I thought would never hurt me… but did.
Sighing, I turned one of the photos face-down. I probably should have come back sooner to get rid of them, but truthfully, I had forgotten they were even here. It had been easier to leave my old life behind when I was living with Gavin, becoming someone entirely new.

“I know it’s hard, but I’m glad to have you back,” my mother said softly, leaning against the doorframe.
Her eyes were filled with compassion as she watched me systematically turn down each photo of Ethan. She had once been Ethan’s biggest supporter — until she was forced to live in the Cash family manor and saw firsthand who they truly were. Now, she hated him and his family more than anything. They were the reason our family was torn apart for months, the reason my father almost went to prison and was beaten within an inch of his life. The reason she nearly lost her fated mate.
I was grateful to have her back. Those months without my father had been some of the darkest times of my life, and I’d feared I had lost her too. But now, she was smiling again. Her skin had color. She was eating. She was alive in every way that mattered.
“Have you spoken to Ethan lately?” she asked, watching me tear down another photo from my vanity mirror.
I frowned at the picture before answering.
“No, and I don’t plan to,” I said firmly, leaving no room for argument. The last time I spoke to him was during the competition, when he showed up with Daisy. I still didn’t know what game he was playing, and honestly, I didn’t care. I only knew he was back in town because of the photo Nan had taken of him with Sammy.
I wondered what kind of relationship Sammy had with him — and why she hadn’t told me about it. It hurt to think she might be keeping something so important from me. Sammy knew the hell Ethan had put both Irene and me through, so I couldn’t understand why she would suddenly be interested in him.
Unless something else was going on.
“Did something happen between you and the Landry family?” my mother asked, her brow creased with concern. “Is that why you’re moving back home?”
“No, Mom,” I said, turning to face her. “I told you, they’re using the mansion for something, and I couldn’t stay there because of it.”
She didn’t look convinced, but she knew better than to push me, so she nodded thoughtfully.
“Well, at least now I can make sure you’re focusing on your studies,” she said, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Graduation is fast approaching, and it’s time to start cramming.”
She was right — I needed to shift all my focus to school now more than ever. It was a critical time, and if I fell behind, graduating at the top of my class would slip out of reach.
“I’ll study hard,” I promised. “You have my word.”
Before she could respond, the sound of my phone ringing interrupted us.
I grabbed it from my bed and saw a text from Nan. Swiping my finger across the screen, I opened the message — and my heart nearly stopped at what I read.
