Chapter: 2613
When He Yuanjiang spoke, Charlie Wade realized that he could not persuade him to cooperate. He understood a principle: “A gentleman should not make things difficult for others.” So, he decided to stop trying and said sincerely, “Professor He, I understand what you mean. I’m sorry for being too hasty.”
He Yuanjiang quickly waved his hand and replied, “Don’t blame yourself. This is just my own struggle. I promised my late wife to stick to this, so it’s important to me. Please don’t hold it against me.”
Charlie Wade reassured him, “Not at all, Professor He. I completely understand your decision.”
He Yuanjiang smiled and then said, “Charlie, if you want to have a strong position against the Ye family and the Su family, you don’t need to go through the trouble of handling ocean transportation all by yourself.”
Charlie Wade looked curious and asked, “What do you mean, Professor He?”

He Yuanjiang replied earnestly, “I think you should go to the United States and find your grandfather. With him backing you, you won’t have to worry about the Su family or the Ye family. Even if they join forces, they won’t be a match for your grandfather.”
Charlie was taken aback and exclaimed, “Professor He, does my grandpa really have that much power?”
He Yuanjiang nodded seriously. “Power? It’s more than just power! There are three of the world’s richest families: the Rothschild family in Europe, the Saudi royal family in the Middle East, and the wealthy Chinese-American families.”
He continued, “Do you know how much wealth your mother helped create for…?”
“Anjia?” Charlie Wade shook his head and sighed, feeling embarrassed. “You tell me, Professor He. I don’t know anything about my grandpa’s family. I was too young back then. My mom took me to see him a few times, but I don’t really remember him. Also, my mom and grandpa didn’t seem to get along very well.”
“That’s true,” He Yuanjiang replied, nodding. “When your mother and father got together and wanted to return to China to marry into the Ye family, your grandpa was very unhappy. He felt that the Ye family wasn’t good enough to be his in-laws.”
He Yuanjiang continued, “Your grandpa was mistaken, though. The Ye family had their strengths, but they didn’t hold much weight in the wider world back then.”
Charlie Wade was curious. “What kind of business did my grandpa’s family run?”
He Yuanjiang looked thoughtful. “Your grandfather’s family was involved in many industries. They were in a lot of businesses but kept a very low profile. They have thousands of companies worldwide, but on the surface, it seems like the An family has nothing to do with them. They rarely make public appearances, much like the Rothschild family.”
He explained, “The Rothschilds don’t reveal much about their current businesses. However, they own multiple banks and hold shares in many others without showing it. Owning a bank means they control finances, and almost every company today relies on banks for funding and going public.”
Families like this often invest in many start-ups and publicly traded companies through various venture capital and stock funds. The Rothschild family, for example, is involved with almost all of the world’s top 500 companies in Europe and the United States. Their shareholding structure is so secret and clever that outsiders can’t figure it out at all.
He Yuanjiang, looking impressed, remarked, “The way Anjia operates is quite similar to the Rothschild family. Your grandpa might not even know exactly how much money he has, and honestly, I don’t either.”
He continued, “But I do know that the venture capital fund your mother created in Silicon Valley over thirty years ago was worth tens of billions of dollars.
Other funds would need countless wealthy individuals or even small investors to raise that much money. But your mother managed to get all her funds from Anjia!”
He added, “And over the years, Silicon Valley has become well-known. Many Fortune 500 companies have emerged from here, along with a lot of top IT millionaires.”
