When Charlie Wade gave the order, someone quickly pulled out a key to open the iron door. Charlie said, “You all stay outside the door for a bit. If someone comes, try to keep your distance.” He glanced at the time and added, “I think your commander will arrive soon. If he wants to come in, let him. Just act naturally so he doesn’t suspect anything.”

“Okay!” the five of them replied together.

The door creaked open, and a musty smell wafted out. Charlie stepped inside, noticing the room was empty except for a dim light hanging from the ceiling. The bulb was weak, casting a faint glow. The walls were made of mud, and there were signs of some reinforcement at the top, but the room felt secure enough that there was no real risk of self-harm.

In one corner, eight people in black hoods stood with their hands tied behind them, some leaning against the wall while others sat on the ground. Charlie couldn’t see their faces, but it was clear from their attire that there were three women and five men among them.

When the door opened, the eight captives tensed up, with some curling up and trembling in fear. Charlie walked in and shut the iron door behind him. He approached the group and began to remove the hoods one by one.

Starting from the left, he took off the hoods of seven people. He noted that among the five boys and two girls, they all had different skin tones. One boy was Asian, while the two girls were both blonde and fair-skinned.

Finally, he reached the last person, revealing a woman with short black hair and yellow skin.

The eight people had always been in darkness, their heads covered by thick black hoods. Suddenly, they were exposed to light. Even though it was dim, the brightness was blinding, and they instinctively shielded their eyes with their hands.

After a moment, their vision adjusted. To their shock, they saw a man in front of them dressed like a terrorist, wearing a black mask and holding an AK-47. He looked dangerous.

Charlie Wade turned to a girl who resembled Gao Yuanyuan and asked in Chinese, “Are you He Zhiqiu?”

At his words, the girl flinched. She stared at Charlie Wade and asked in surprise, “How do you know me? Are you from Huaxia?”

Charlie Wade reached up and removed his mask. He replied calmly, “I was sent by your dad to take you home.”

He Zhiqiu looked at him in disbelief. “What did you say? My dad sent you to bring me home? How does he know I’m here? And why are you here? Are you part of the opposition?”
