Chapter: 2672
Charlie Wade felt a rush of excitement at those words. He looked at the seven highly educated captors in front of him and couldn’t help but feel a sense of triumph. They had been waiting for the Marines to rescue them, but now, Charlie was here first!
He overheard Commander Hamid speaking to Faisal and the others outside, likely asking how the hostages were doing. One of the guards quickly reported that everything was normal. Then Hamid barked, “Open the door.”
The sound of the door opening echoed through the room. Soon, a man in desert camouflage stepped inside. Charlie noticed that the man swayed to the left as he walked, revealing that he had a limp in his left leg.
Hamid stepped forward, furious to see that none of the eight hostages were wearing headgear. He shouted angrily, “Bastard! Why aren’t they wearing headgear? Now they’ve seen my face! I’m going to kill them!”
Just then, he noticed someone in his peripheral vision on the right. He turned and saw Charlie Wade smiling at him. Hamid was taken aback by the unfamiliar face and instinctively reached for his gun.
In response, Charlie pointed his AK-47 directly at him, kicked the door shut, and said with a grin, “Go ahead and kneel with your hands on your head.”
Then, shaking his head, he muttered, “I guess you can’t understand Chinese.”
To his surprise, Hamid replied in Chinese, “You… are you from Huaxia?!”
Charlie was intrigued. “Oh, you can speak my language?”
“Do you speak Chinese?” Hamid asked, trying to stay calm. “I studied in China and learned the language. My father wanted me to build trade relations with China one day, but he never expected to be killed by government forces.”
After saying this, Hamid turned to Charlie Wade and asked coldly, “Who are you? Why are you here? Are you with the government?”
Charlie Wade smiled slightly. “I’m not with the government.”
Hamid looked shocked and asked, “Then who do you work for?”
Charlie pointed to He Zhiqiu. “I was sent by her father to bring her home.”
He then turned back to Hamid and said coldly, “You may think you’re righteous, but you’re at war and have kidnapped students who just wanted to learn. Don’t you fear what others will say?”
Hamid gritted his teeth and shouted, “Stop talking nonsense! I took them because they’re in the army and they’re my enemies! You can’t just come here and demand to take them away!”
Charlie Wade smiled and replied, “Oh really? Do you think you’ll escape safely if I decide to kill you right now?”
Hamid clenched his jaw and said, “All my people are outside; you can’t escape!”
Charlie shook his head. “No, you’re wrong. All my people are outside.”
He then opened the door and called out to Faisal, “Control those two guys outside, but make sure no one in the yard hears you.”
Faisal nodded quickly. “Yes!”
Hamid was stunned and shouted, “Faisal, how dare you betray me! You’re betraying our mission to overthrow the government!”
“Sorry!” Faisal said, pointing at Charlie with both hands. He spoke clearly and confidently, “I only serve this gentleman now!”
