Chapter: 2693
Knowing that Charlie Wade could easily defeat them, why bother acting tough in front of him? If they had shown some respect to Charlie earlier, they might have been able to leave Syria with him, a place full of chaos.
Seeing that his men were about to break down, Hamid lost interest and told the soldiers nearby, “Have them get up at 5:30 in the morning and start work at 6. They can have a half-hour break at noon and another half hour at 6 in the evening. They’ll keep working until 11 at night. Got it?”
The soldiers nodded quickly, “Understood, Commander!”
When the seven men heard this, they were terrified. Working 16 hours a day with only an hour and a half for meals meant they barely had any time to rest. With so little free time, they would hardly have time to wash, dress, or even use the bathroom. Six hours of rest seemed impossible!
These men came from families that were well-off, at least by modest standards. They had never faced much hardship in their lives. Now, being forced into such intense labor was overwhelming. They were scared out of their wits.
Hamid, however, showed no sympathy. After giving his orders, he simply turned and walked away.
Meanwhile, in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Han Guangyao was on a video call with Ye Zhongquan, an elder from Yanjing. During the call, Han respectfully reported that Charlie Wade had parachuted in alone to rescue He Zhiqiu, and that Hamid had sent him out.
Ye Zhongquan listened in shock, unable to fully comprehend what he had just heard. He stared blankly and asked, “What?
“Did Chen’er really do that? He parachuted to the enemy’s base alone and rescued He Zhiqiu?” Han Guangyao replied respectfully, “Yes, Master, it’s true! He jumped from over 5,000 meters. He opened his parachute at a much lower altitude than what is normally safe. Even Vasily, the coach for the Russian special forces, said it’s impossible to survive that. But somehow, the young master managed it without any issues.”
Ye Zhongquan was amazed. “I’ve heard people in Jinling call Chen’er a true dragon on earth. I thought that was just exaggeration. Is he really that skilled in martial arts?”
Han Guangyao nodded seriously. “Master, I believe even a martial arts expert wouldn’t match the young master’s abilities. For ordinary people, such heights would be crushing, but for him, it’s easy.”
Ye Zhongquan continued, “Do you know how he rescued He Zhiqiu all by himself? Oh, wait, you mentioned that Hamid personally took him to the meeting point with He Zhiqiu. Why would Hamid treat Chen’er so well? Isn’t he the head of the armed forces? Normally, Chen’er would be seen as an enemy while trying to save hostages. So why would Hamid escort him himself? Could it be that he was captured by Chen’er?”
Han Guangyao was surprised by the number of questions from the old man and quickly responded, “Master, I don’t know the details of how he rescued He Zhiqiu, as that information hasn’t been shared with us. As for why Hamid respects the young master, I’m not entirely sure. It seems Hamid doesn’t just respect the young master…”
“Master, he is even worthy of the young master’s brother. He speaks very respectfully about the young master, so I’m not sure if the young master kidnapped him. I think only the young master knows the truth…”
Ye Zhongquan listened and couldn’t help but sigh. “It’s amazing, truly amazing! I was even ready to pay to get someone back, but I never expected it would end this way…”
Despite his surprise, he couldn’t hide his excitement. “It looks like my Ye family has found a real treasure this time!”
