Chapter: 2699
At the same time, the signal blocker was turned on, causing all nearby mobile phones to lose service because they couldn’t find any signals.
Even though Su Shoudao’s phone was still connected to the hotel’s Wi-Fi, he realized that the Wi-Fi itself had stopped working. So, while he was connected, he couldn’t access the Internet at all. But Su Shoudao didn’t notice this problem.
He straightened his suit and tie in front of the mirror. Once he felt he looked good, he took out a fake beard and stuck it under his nose. Next, he pulled out a pair of gold glasses from his pocket. With those on, he looked like someone who had just returned from living abroad.
To complete his disguise, he placed a top hat that matched his suit on his head, thinking it would make him look even more convincing.
Feeling ready, Su Shoudao picked up his phone to head outside. But when he looked at the screen, he saw that his phone had lost service. Surprised, he wondered aloud, “How can this hotel not have a cell phone signal?”
He opened WeChat again, but noticed it still wasn’t connected. Confused, he murmured, “No! The Wi-Fi logo is on. I’m connected, so why can’t I access WeChat?”
Worried, he rushed out of the cloakroom, walked through the bedroom, and headed to the living room to use the hotel’s landline to call his men.
However, as soon as he stepped into the living room, he froze in shock! His heart raced as he saw someone sitting on the sofa.
This person looked incredibly familiar. Panicked, Su Shoudao tried to act calm.
Charlie Wade smiled as he looked at Su Shoudao, who was trying to stay calm. “You are Su Shoudao, right?” he asked.
Su Shoudao’s eyes widened with caution. “Who are you? How do you know my name?” he demanded.
Charlie replied, still smiling, “We’ve actually met before, but you might not remember because it’s been a while.”
Su Shoudao frowned, feeling nervous but trying to act calm. “I don’t remember meeting you. Why would I?”
Charlie picked up an apple from the coffee table, took a bite, and said, “Think back to the elevator at the Tokyo Hospital. Does that ring a bell?”
Su Shoudao squinted at him, watching closely as he dug through his memories. Suddenly, he remembered. “Wait! You’re the kid I felt was familiar in Tokyo!” he exclaimed, pointing at Charlie.
Charlie nodded. “Yes, that’s me. But why do I look familiar to you?”
Su Shoudao replied coldly, “Because you look like someone I knew who has been dead for a long time.”
Instantly, Charlie’s expression turned serious. “Su Shoudao, if you kneel down and apologize, I’ll pretend you never said that. If not, I’ll make you regret it.”
Su Shoudao was taken aback by Charlie’s cold demeanor. He asked, “Who are you related to Ye Changying?”
Charlie stood up, speaking slowly and clearly, “Ye…”
“Changying, it’s my dad!”
