Su Zhifei tiptoed into Su Zhiyu’s room in the middle of the night. He wanted to find out what Su Zhiyu and their mother had been through and who had saved them. At dinner, he had listened carefully as their mother talked about a mysterious rescuer who had come to their aid but never showed themselves. While everything she said seemed logical, Su Zhifei couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
Their grandfather, Su Chengfeng, suspected that this incident might be connected to the person who had saved him and Su Zhiyu in Japan. So, Su Zhifei decided to ask Su Zhiyu privately if she could shed some light on the situation.
As soon as he entered her room, Su Zhifei asked with concern, “Zhiyu, what did you go through these past few days?”
Su Zhiyu smiled and replied, “No… Brother, remember what I said at dinner? I didn’t have any hardships. I just ate well and slept a lot!”
Relieved, Su Zhifei sighed, “That’s good. I was worried you might have suffered. After all, a big car accident can leave you feeling uncomfortable.”
Su Zhiyu nodded in agreement. “It was really nothing serious. They had a very professional medical team taking care of us.”
Curious, Su Zhifei asked, “What about that mysterious person who saved you and Mom? Why did they help you quietly? And how come no one knows anything about it?”
“I don’t know,” Su Zhiyu said. “I can’t really say much… I never saw them, and they didn’t explain why they came to save us…”
Su Zhifei looked at his sister, Su Zhiyu, and said seriously, “Zhiyu, can you tell me the truth? Is there something you can’t share at the dinner table with Grandpa and the others?”
Su Zhiyu quickly replied, “There’s nothing like that. I’m just sharing what really happened.”
Su Zhifei frowned and suddenly asked, “Zhiyu, the person who saved you and Mom—was it the benefactor?”
Su Zhiyu was taken aback by his question. After a moment, she shook her head and insisted, “That can’t be true. I tried so hard to find him before, but I couldn’t. Besides, the benefactor is in Japan and won’t come to Jinling.”
As Su Zhifei watched her closely, he noticed that Su Zhiyu seemed a bit uncomfortable and nervous when he mentioned the benefactor. Her denial felt forced, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that she was hiding something.

We’ve even faced life and death together in Japan. As your older brother, I care about you deeply. What could you possibly hide from me?”
Hearing this, Su Zhiyu felt a wave of guilt. Her voice wavered as she replied, “Brother… I don’t have anything to hide…”
