Chapter: 2847
Su Zhiyu put her manuscript away without much thought and rubbed her cheeks, which felt cold and stiff. After a moment, she tried to look natural and called out, “Brother, come in! The door is locked.”
Su Zhifei quickly entered, locked the door behind him, and looked at Su Zhiyu. Noticing something off about her expression, he smiled and asked, “Zhiyu, why are you suddenly planning a press conference?”
Su Zhiyu replied earnestly, “When the tunnel incident happened, many people across the country were worried about my mom and me. I think it’s important to explain everything publicly so those who care about us can feel at ease.”
“Oh…” Su Zhifei nodded and smiled. “That makes sense! Ever since the accident, everyone has been concerned about you and your mom!”
He continued, “Many people are even going out to search for clues. Some have created online groups to analyze the incident together. They are really passionate!”
Su Zhiyu agreed, “We definitely need to let them know that Mom and I are safe!”
Then, Su Zhiyu pretended to be curious and asked, “By the way, didn’t you go to the stadium for work? Is it really worth coming all the way back for this?”
Su Zhifei chuckled, “Of course! I’m worried about you. I thought you might be too overwhelmed to handle everything before the press conference, so I wanted to check on you.”
Su Zhiyu whispered, “Thank you, Brother!”
“Of course, that’s what siblings are for!”
“What are you being so polite for?” Su Zhifei asked as he patted Su Zhiyu on the head. “By the way, what are you planning to say at the press conference?”
Su Zhiyu replied casually, “I actually have a lot to say. I’ve summarized it into three main points.”
“First, I want to tell everyone that my mom and I are back safe and sound, so they won’t have to worry anymore.”
“Second, I need to mention that we were rescued by a mysterious benefactor who provided us with excellent medical care. This is a chance to thank him, and it will help satisfy the curiosity of many people online. I’m sure a lot of them are wondering how we survived such a serious car accident.”
“And for the third point, I want to address my feelings about the situation. Everyone knows this was caused by the Su family and that Grandpa was involved. I want to talk to him during the press conference, urging him to apologize and turn himself in to the police since he’s been suspected of attempted murder.”
Su Zhifei’s heart raced at this. “Zhiyu, the first two points are fine, but the third one seems a bit extreme.”
“Extreme?” Su Zhiyu responded, surprised. “He attacked my mom and nearly killed us! I’m just asking him to apologize and take responsibility. Is that too much? What he did was cruel and inhumane!”
Su Zhifei felt uncomfortable. “Zhiyu, you have to remember, he is your grandfather. Out of all his grandchildren, he cares for you the most! Just look at the names he gave us; they reflect his hopes and expectations for us. You are the one he treasures.”
“You can be happy; nothing else matters…” Su Zhiyu looked at her brother, Su Zhifei, feeling deeply disappointed. In that moment, she realized that her brother was siding with their grandfather, the murderer.
Despite her feelings, she kept her composure. She nodded slightly and said calmly, “Brother, I understand your point, but you need to be fair and objective in your actions!”
She continued, “Things should be clear; what is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong! Just because he was nice to me before doesn’t mean I can overlook the fact that he tried to kill our mother!”
