Chapter: 2869
Charlie Wade turned to He Yingxiu and said, “By the way, Ms. He, it seems like you’re the only woman here. It might not be very comfortable for you to stay with all these men. Since Old Chen manages the Buckingham Palace Hotel, I can ask him to arrange a room for you there.”
He Yingxiu quickly realized that Charlie Wade wanted her to stay close to her daughter, Su Ruoli. She felt a rush of happiness and eagerness at the thought. “Thank you, Master Ye!” she replied enthusiastically.
Charlie Wade smiled back. “You’re welcome.”
He Hongsheng chimed in, “Master Ye, you are very considerate! It’s true that Yingxiu shouldn’t stay here. She has a disability and it would be easier for her to live in a hotel. I appreciate your help on her behalf!”
Charlie Wade nodded and then said to He Yingxiu, “Ms. He, I’ll head back to the Buckingham Palace soon. You can come with me.”
He Yingxiu felt a thrill at the thought of seeing her daughter and nodded eagerly. “Yes, Master Ye!”
As it was getting late, Charlie Wade took out his phone and called He Zhiqiu’s father, He Yuanjiang. Since He Yuanjiang lived just a few hundred meters away, Charlie wanted him to bring He Zhiqiu over. This way, they could all meet He Hongsheng and He Yingxiu, making it easier to reach out to the He family if needed in the future.
He Yuanjiang had been taking a break from work to care for He Zhiqiu, who was recovering from the traumatic experience of being kidnapped. The time spent in the dark, damp basement had taken a toll on her health, and she had struggled to eat during that ordeal.
He Yuanjiang had been through a lot of stress and pain, both mentally and physically. When Charlie Wade first brought him home, he felt a spark of excitement. But that quickly faded, and he felt completely drained as soon as he returned. For the past two days, he felt like a battery that had run out of power—both his body and mind were very weak.
He had been at home with his daughter, He Zhiqiu, who was starting to feel better after her own struggles. Today, she seemed to show some improvement.
When Charlie Wade called, He Yuanjiang answered politely, “Charlie Wade, it’s nice to hear from you! What brings you to call me?”
Charlie replied with a smile, “Uncle He, I’m actually in your neighborhood. Some friends of mine just moved here, and I’m helping them settle in. I thought you and Zhiqiu might like to come by and meet them. Are you at home?”
“Yes, I’m at home,” He Yuanjiang said quickly. “Zhiqiu is here too, but she just started to recover, so maybe it’s better if I come to see you instead. What do you think?”
“That sounds great!” Charlie Wade said eagerly. “I’m at Villa 32. If you can make it, come on over. My friends here are all skilled martial artists. If you ever need help in the future, you can ask them anytime.”
He Yuanjiang felt grateful for Charlie’s thoughtful arrangements. He was touched and looked forward to the visit. “Alright, I’ll head over soon.”
After the call ended, He Zhiqiu came over, curious. “Dad, was that Charlie Wade calling?”
“Yes,” He Yuanjiang replied, nodding. “He’s in our community because a friend of his just moved here, and he invited me to come meet them.”
After their meeting, he turned to He Zhiqiu and said, “You’re not feeling well. You should stay home and rest.”
To his surprise, He Zhiqiu, who had seemed a bit down, suddenly perked up and exclaimed, “I want to go too!”
