Chapter: 2879
When Han Meiqing heard He Zhiqiu speak, she nodded and smiled. “It’s really rare to meet people with similar life experiences. It makes it easier to connect,” she said sincerely.
In her life, Han Meiqing had faced many challenges. She had moved abroad, gotten married, had children, lost her husband, and then decided to return to her home country with her kids. This short summary captured over 50 years of her life.
Interestingly, He Yuanjiang’s story was almost the same. He also came back to China after losing his wife. At first, Han Meiqing thought they were different because he returned alone while his child stayed abroad. However, when she met He Zhiqiu, she realized that He Yuanjiang’s child had also come back.
The similarities were striking. It felt like looking in a mirror, though there were differences. He Yuanjiang was a man with a daughter, while she was a woman with a son. Because of this connection, Han Meiqing felt more at ease when she spoke to He Zhiqiu. “Zhiqiu, my son just arrived in China with me. I’d love to introduce you. I think you two will have a lot to talk about,” she said with a smile.
He Zhiqiu smiled back, nodded, and replied politely, “Okay, Aunt Han.”
Seeing this, He Yuanjiang jumped in. “Meiqing, how about this? I’ll cook some dinner at my place tomorrow night. Bring Paul over, and let the kids get to know each other. What do you think?”
Han Meiqing thought for a moment and replied, “Well, I’m not sure yet. I’ll ask Paul when I…”
He Yuanjiang quickly replied, “Okay! If Paul has time, just let me know, and I’ll start preparing.”
Han Meiqing nodded and glanced at the time. “Alright, I won’t keep you. Some of the older folks are still waiting for me.”
She waved goodbye to Charlie Wade. “Charlie, if you have time to relax at home, Paul keeps talking about you. He says you’re the person he admires most.”
Charlie smiled politely. “Thank you, Auntie Han. I’ll definitely visit if I have the time.”
Han Meiqing smiled back and said to He Zhiqiu, “Zhiqiu, I’m leaving now. I’ll bring my son over to visit your house soon.”
He Zhiqiu replied with a bright smile, “Okay, Aunt Han, take care!”
Once Han Meiqing left, Charlie Wade quickly turned to He Yuanjiang and He Zhiqiu. “Let’s get in the car.”
“Sure,” He Yuanjiang replied as he climbed into the vehicle.
After everyone was on board, Charlie told the driver to take them to the villa area where He Yuanjiang lived.
On the way, He Zhiqiu couldn’t help but ask her dad with a teasing look, “Dad, do you like Aunt Han?”
He Yuanjiang felt embarrassed and stammered, “What are you talking about?”
He Zhiqiu rolled her eyes. “I’m not a little kid! I can see what’s going on.”
With a serious expression, she continued, “I really like Aunt Han. I’ve never met anyone with such a great personality and manners. Plus, she’s really friendly.”
“Really?!” He Yuanjiang was pleasantly surprised. “Do you think…”
Do you really think your Aunt Han is a good person?
