“Hello, who is this?” came Lai Qinghua’s voice from the other end.
“Mr. Lai, it’s me, Charlie Wade,” Charlie replied.
As soon as Lai Qinghua recognized Charlie’s voice, he exclaimed, “It’s Master Ye! Why are you calling me out of the blue?”
Charlie said, “I wanted to ask you something. Is it a good time?”
“Of course! Please go ahead,” Lai Qinghua replied quickly.
Charlie asked, “Do you know an old man named Mai Chengxing? He’s also an overseas Chinese living in the United States.”
“Mai Chengxing?!” Lai Qinghua sounded surprised. “Have you met him?”
“Yes,” Charlie explained calmly. “I saw him, but we didn’t have a real conversation. It seems like he came to Jinling to find me, so I wanted to learn more about him from you.”
Lai Qinghua sighed and said, “Mai Chengxing knows I had a great opportunity after meeting you in China, and he wanted to experience that too. He had some business to attend to, and he thought there might be another opportunity for him, so he came over.”
Charlie asked again, “What about Mai Chengxing as a person?”
Lai Qinghua replied earnestly, “He is a very honest Feng Shui master and a direct descendant of the Mai family. I’ve known him for many years. He is a decent man who has never done anything wrong.”

Mike took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. “Okay, Grandpa. I’ll be careful.”
As they arrived at the cemetery, the atmosphere felt heavy. The driver parked, and they stepped out into the dark, quiet night, ready to meet Xuan Fengnian.
“What does he want us to do when he invites us to meet this time?” Mai Chengxing whispered.
Mike nodded slightly and replied with a shaky voice, “I think he’s trying to get some information from us. But we haven’t found any useful clues in the last few days. What if the Su family is involved in this Xuanfeng year? How do we handle that?”
