Chapter: 2890
“After that, he began to form groups and gather followers. For a time, he was very popular. Many wealthy people from Hong Kong and Dao brothers became his disciples…”
“I’ve met this person several times. We’ve shared drinks and talked about history, so I know him quite well. He’s impressive. Not only is he skilled in ventilation and water mysteries, but he also excels in Gu art and metaphysics. He’s quite capable!”
“Unlike our feng shui master, who only understands feng shui techniques and I Ching gossip but lacks knowledge in Gu techniques and other deadly methods,” Lai Qinghua continued. “About thirty years ago, during the Xuanfeng year, I visited Ma Jiahui in Hong Kong and met him there.”
“Oh?” Charlie Wade asked, intrigued. “If Ma Jiahui is so famous, how did Xuan Fengnian, as his apprentice, become so infamous?”
Lai Qinghua explained, “Ma Jiahui was incredibly talented in his time. I have dedicated my life to studying the Book of Changes and feng shui mysteries, but I can only hope to reach his level.”
“Besides the Book of Changes and Eight Diagrams, he was also knowledgeable in many other metaphysical mysteries, both good and evil, and his overall skills surpassed mine!”
“That’s why it’s nearly impossible for anyone to master all of Ma Jiahui’s teachings unless they are exceptionally gifted.”
“Because of this, his three true disciples each had their own paths. Some focused on feng shui mysteries, others on esoteric axioms, while Xuan Fengnian concentrated on raising Gu and other deadly techniques.”
“In the field of metaphysics…”
Yang Gu is known as a sorcerer, which means he practices evil ways, and among them, Yang Gu is the worst.
When Ma Jiahui was alive, Xuan Fengnian managed to keep his dark thoughts in check and avoided doing harm. But after Ma Jiahui passed away, Xuan Fengnian let go of those restraints. He became a partner to the rich, killing many of their enemies and rivals, which earned him a terrible reputation.
Charlie Wade frowned and asked Mr. Lai, “What’s the connection between Xuan Fengnian and Ma Jiahui’s school, as well as the other two true disciples? If I end up having to confront him, will I be stirring up trouble with a lot of dangerous people?”
Lai Qinghua replied honestly, “Even though Ma Jiahui was very talented, he didn’t have a bright future. After he stopped asking questions in his later years, the school lost its strong foundation and began to fall apart. Otherwise, Xuan Fengnian wouldn’t have left Hong Kong for the UK. So, you don’t need to worry too much about martial arts.”
He continued, “As for the other two true disciples of Ma Jiahui, I’m not too sure of their relationship with Xuan Fengnian. In the later years, many Feng Shui masters in Hong Kong were used by powerful people, which affected their character and reputation. So, Master Ye, you should be cautious.”
Lai Qinghua then shared, “I remember the names of the other two true disciples. One is Huo Zhengying, and the other is Yu Jinghai.”
“Yu Jinghai?!” Charlie Wade’s eyes widened in surprise.
He thought to himself, “I can’t believe that the Hong Kong metaphysical master Yu Jinghai, who was struck dead by lightning, is actually Xuan Fengnian’s brother! What a twist!”
Lai Qinghua, who was on the other side of the conversation, continued…
Charlie Wade was on the phone, listening intently as Mr. Lai spoke. “Master Ye, you need to be careful of Xuanfengnian. Also, watch out for Huo Zhengying and Yu Jinghai. Ma Jiahui has many fans, but these three true disciples actually have some skills. The others, not so much.”
“Thank you, Mr. Lai,” Charlie said quickly. “I will be more careful.”
Mr. Lai continued, “Xuanfengnian has a very strange and dangerous personality. He raises a special Gu worm that he has been feeding for 20 years. It started by drinking his blood for the first year, but now it feeds on the brains of living people. It’s extremely dangerous. You must be cautious, Master Ye.”
Hearing this made a cold light flash in Charlie’s eyes. The idea of a Gu worm that fed on human brains was horrifying.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Lai,” Charlie replied firmly. “The day Xuanfengnian crosses my path will be the end of his evil ways! I will make sure he and his Gu worms stay in Jinling this time!”
