Lin Wan’er continued, “This way, we can rule out if it’s a person or a ghost. That leaves us with just ‘things.’ If it is a thing, it’s definitely not an ordinary one. The ring my father left me is powerful, but it seems like whatever is behind this is even stronger. You should think carefully about whether you’ve come across any magic items, and if they might still be connected to you or even hidden in your mind.”
Charlie Wade thought hard for a moment and replied, “Honestly, I haven’t encountered many powerful items while practicing. I can’t think of anything related to this situation.”
Then he remembered the Sifang Baozhu and added, “One item that stands out is the Sifang Baozhu. It’s a national treasure created by Master Xuanzang and many monks, but I returned it to Zhao without anything unusual happening.”
Even though the Sifang Baozhu is a magic item, it’s a treasure meant for the nation’s well-being, and Charlie had quietly given it back to the country. He never noticed anything strange about it, so he doubted it was connected to the current issue.
Lin Wan’er wasn’t ready to give up. She asked Charlie, “When you were with the Sifang Baozhu, did you notice anything strange that you couldn’t understand?”
“No,” Charlie shook his head. “The only thing I experienced was a vision from the past. Other than that, there wasn’t anything special. When I used my spiritual energy, I only activated one of the…”
Charlie Wade explained, “The Sifang Baozhu let me see a documentary-like recording, but that’s all. I haven’t noticed anything else unusual.”
Lin Wan’er asked, “Have you discovered anything strange about yourself since then?”
“No,” Charlie replied firmly. “After I viewed the images, my consciousness returned from the Sifang Baozhu, and I didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary.”
Lin Wan’er continued, “The Sifang Baozhu was created by Master Xuanzang and top monks from the Tang Dynasty. In a way, it’s like a Buddhist artifact. The vision we saw in the sky above Northern Europe could be related to it. There might be a connection we need to explore.”
Charlie thought for a moment. “That makes sense. But it’s odd because there aren’t any countries in Europe that follow Buddhism. If there was a vision in the Arctic Circle, it should have formed something like a Christian cross, not a Buddhist swastika. Yet, I still don’t feel connected to the Sifang Baozhu. It’s puzzling.”
Lin Wan’er suggested, “Why don’t we reach out to Lao Sun? Maybe we can arrange for you to revisit the Sifang Baozhu and see if we missed any details.”
Charlie was intrigued by the idea of looking at the Sifang Baozhu again. Even though he didn’t feel a direct link to the recent events, he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to discover under the aurora in the Arctic Circle.
Charlie Wade noticed a swastika in the sky, and he realized that the handprints were connected to Buddhism. He didn’t have much experience with Buddhism himself. The only time he encountered it was when a fake nun blocked him at a nunnery near Shiwanda Mountain. This made him suspicious of the Sifang Baozhuan.
The Sifang Baozhu was a legendary weapon, passed down for thousands of years, and it was truly remarkable. Charlie wondered if it might be linked to his current situation.
There was one more thing Charlie hadn’t shared with Lin Wan’er. He wasn’t sure if the large amount of his spiritual energy being drained was related to the Sifang Baozhu, but he was certain that it was somehow in his sea of consciousness.
If it only absorbed spiritual energy like a ring, he wouldn’t be too worried. He could just avoid being tricked again. But this was different.
The way it manipulated the aurora to send information to him and set traps made him think that it must have its own consciousness.
