- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 6946
Charlie Wade spoke not about protecting rights, but about increasing production, and the guests around him nodded in agreement.
It’s natural to want to protect the rights of a specific group. However, if you use clever ways to grow that group significantly, things can quickly change.
Tawanna has always supported this idea, and it’s fair to say she is a leader in this movement. In the past, people thought she was simply caring for this group, but now, looking at it differently, it seems she’s trying to make the group larger and larger. It’s hard to pinpoint her true intentions.
Even Mitsui Yoshitaka found himself stroking his chin, looking thoughtful and serious.
His wife turned to their daughter, Mitsui Shinmei, and asked, “Xinmei, is it really possible in the U.S. to have gender-changing surgery for minors without their guardian’s approval?”
Mitsui Xinmei paused and said quietly, “I’ve heard some similar news. Some states in the U.S. do have laws about this.”
Her mother gasped, “What kind of law allows this? Minors are still children and can’t make such big decisions on their own. Important matters should involve their guardians. Why would anyone rush a child into such a major and permanent decision? They can just wait until they’re adults!”
Mitsui Xinmei shook her head, confused. “I’m not sure what their motive is for this, but…”
Mr. Ye’s words make a lot of sense. It’s really important that people can make decisions when they are fully capable, rather than being rushed into choices they might regret later.
Mitsui Shinmei’s mother spoke up angrily, “I can’t understand why an idol who doesn’t do her job well supports these ideas every day. I feel the need to confront her. How can she promote this in her own country? We can’t control her actions, but she shouldn’t promote these things in Japan, especially not in Tokyo or during Mitsui family performances. If any Japanese teenagers are influenced by her and make decisions they will regret for life, then the Mitsui family shares the blame!”
Mitsui Xinmei hesitated and replied, “I’ll find a chance to talk to her later.”
Her mother, with a hint of reproach in her tone, said, “Xinmei, you are the eldest daughter of the Mitsui family. You need to be mindful of your influence. It’s best not to associate too closely with certain people in public. Your father and I have avoided joining any groups over the years, staying clear of any movements. The world is full of uncertainties. We can maintain our integrity, but those around us might not. In the past two years, there have been many incidents in the United States where seemingly respectable people turned out to be doing terrible things behind the scenes. If you get too close to someone like that, and they are exposed, it will affect you, and it will reflect on the Mitsui family as well.”
Feeling ashamed, Mitsui Xinmei looked down and said, “You’re right, Mother. I will be more careful in the future.”
and saw that he was still quiet, unsure of how to respond. Tawanna felt a wave of panic wash over her. She knew she needed to say something to lighten the mood.
“Mr. Ye,” she began, “I think this might just be a difference in our cultures. In the United States, people often have different views on these topics.”
As she spoke, she realized her argument wasn’t very strong. She wanted to wrap up the conversation with Charlie quickly. “Look,” she continued, “we don’t need to keep arguing about this. You have your opinions, and I have mine. I support the LGBT community, but if you don’t, that’s your choice. I can’t force you to change your mind. What do you think?”
Tawanna felt a pang of regret. She had just received support from Xiao Churan and Dong Ruolin and even had Trevor’s video as evidence. That should have been enough for her. She didn’t need to provoke Charlie or try to make him agree with her. She was starting to feel overwhelmed in front of everyone.
Seeing Tawanna trying to calm things down, Mitsui Yoshitaka quickly stepped in to mediate. “Wow, that was quite a debate! But with the performance coming up, I think it’s best if we don’t dwell on this any longer. Mr. Ye, what do you think?”
Charlie shrugged casually. “It’s really up to the guest. Since Mr. Mitsui suggested it, I have no objections.”
Tawanna felt a wave of relief wash over her. She glanced at Trevor, hoping for some sign of agreement.
She glanced over and noticed Trevor quietly putting his phone away. This made her feel a bit more relaxed.
