- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 6959
In the car, three people had their own secret thoughts. Charlie Wade was focused on how he could save Tawanna and Trevor, who were having serious problems in their relationship. Pete Roger, on the other hand, was thinking about how to eliminate all three of them quickly. Tawanna was puzzled, wondering why even the CIA couldn’t deal with the man who was bothering her.
Soon, the car reached the entrance and exit of the dome. There was a gate here, guarded by security personnel. Since the dome’s inner areas were not open to the public, there were always guards on duty.
As they approached the gate, Pete Roger felt uneasy. This was the final obstacle for him. If he could get past this, he would consider it a success.
At the turnstile, several impressive security guards stood tall, watching the convoy as it approached. Before the convoy could reach the turnstile, some people quickly opened it and lined up at the side of the road. They greeted the vehicle with smiles, their hands neatly at their sides, wearing white gloves. It was clear that they showed genuine respect.
Seeing this, Pete Roger felt relieved. The guards reminded him of loyal but harmless dogs. They looked strong, but when trouble came, they didn’t act tough; instead, they happily welcomed those they were supposed to protect.
The convoy passed through the turnstiles and was about to turn onto the main road. Charlie Wade noticed that the Japanese ninja beside him had pulled his hands back into his cuffs. The two people…
Charlie Wade sat in the third row, observing the scene in front of him. He noticed a ninja next to him preparing for a traditional Japanese show with shurikens, the star-shaped throwing weapons. Charlie had encountered Japanese ninjas before and thought they were not very impressive. To him, shurikens were just as common as a terrorist’s AK47—boring and predictable.
In front of him, two men had something different in mind. They were quietly getting ready with two injection needles hidden in their arms. Charlie quickly realized their plan: the ninja would try to take him out with shurikens, while the two men, posing as CIA agents, likely intended to use poison on Tawanna and her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, Tawanna was blissfully unaware of the danger approaching. She leaned toward her boyfriend and, speaking just loudly enough for those around them to hear, said, “That guy is really annoying. Is there a way to make him go away? Are we in the same car?”
Trevor glanced at Charlie Wade and quickly turned back to Tawanna, whispering, “Hey, you need to be polite. Remember, I’m Miss Fei’s good friend…”
Tawanna rolled her eyes and replied, “I didn’t mention my last name. If someone gets picked, that’s their own problem.”
Trevor, feeling a bit embarrassed, said softly, “Okay, okay, let’s stop joking around. I got in the car to help you.”
Tawanna said angrily, “Only someone with your IQ would believe such a silly excuse. How could he get in the car for our safety? He clearly came here on purpose. He knows that the CIA can’t touch him because he’s Chinese, so he wants to play along with our jokes. I know people like him all too well. Everyone in Vanity Fair is just pretending.”
