- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 6984
Trevor was taken aback by the changes in Tawanna.
In the past, Tawanna had a fiery personality. She often reacted angrily and seemed tough on the outside, but deep down, she was vulnerable. She was loud but not really dangerous.
Now, however, Tawanna was different. She had become mentally strong and could identify her enemies’ weak points, striking with precision.
Trevor noticed that Tawanna’s new skills reminded him of Charlie Wade. He sensed that Charlie had a significant impact on her and that she might even have developed feelings for him.
Despite this, Trevor didn’t feel jealous or upset. He respected Charlie and appreciated the friendship he had with Tawanna. He knew there was no romantic interest between them.
Just then, Trevor’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw it was the personal phone Tawanna had given him to hold. He handed it to her and said, “Here you go, dear.”
Tawanna glanced at the screen and felt a wave of dizziness. It was a call from her mother.
Since it was morning in the United States, her mother must have seen something online and was calling her about it.
After a moment of hesitation, Tawanna answered, “Mom, what’s up?”
On the other end, her mother sounded worried. “Tawanna, I saw a video of you arguing with someone online. I think the person who recorded it is right next to you.”
“What’s going on with your team? You let someone secretly film you at a private party and then put that video online! I got a bunch of calls from American media reporters before I even woke up,” Tawanna’s mother exclaimed.
“They all wanted to interview me, asking what I thought about the video. What do you think about it? What’s happening?”
Tawanna replied, “Mom, that video was taken by Trevor.”
“Trevor?!” her mother shouted, clearly upset. “What’s wrong with him? Can’t he see that you’re at a disadvantage in this debate? Doesn’t he understand that a video like that can spread quickly and hurt you?”
Tawanna calmly said, “Mom, I asked Trevor to take the video, and I told him to post it online.”
“Are you crazy?” her mother yelled. “You should know that you already lost when the other side brought in minors. No matter how you explain, you can’t win against them.”
“Why would you let Trevor post that video? Doesn’t that just expose you more? And why didn’t you speak up for them at your concert today? You know a lot of people come to see you, and I keep refreshing the news online, hoping to hear you support them.”
“You’ve always spoken for them at your performances. Why did you stop today?”
Tawanna took a deep breath and replied, “Mom, I know I lost. As for not speaking out today, I realized my past mistakes. As a public figure, especially one that many minors look up to, I have to be responsible for everything I say and do. So, I’ve decided not to make any random statements about my opinions from now on.”
Tawanna’s mother listened, her expression softening a bit.
“Tawanna, you’re over 30 now. It’s time to think more maturely and thoroughly about these issues. Some beliefs have become common values in the Western world.”
