The doctor operating the machine quickly opened Hank’s previous whole-body scan data.
At the doctor’s request, he zoomed in on Hank’s pancreas. The image, enhanced by a contrast agent, clearly showed a large lesion almost filling the entire head of the pancreas.
Johnson looked closely at the lesion and said, “Yes, it’s right here. It’s so obvious and so big. How could it have disappeared when I took today’s photo?”
Hurrying, he urged, “Quick, switch back to the last scan.”
The doctor promptly switched the data back to the earlier recording. This scan looked clean, with no tissue showing any unusual reactions to the contrast agent.

Johnson was shocked and turned to the other doctors around him. “Do you think this is scientific?” he asked.
“That’s unscientific,” Hank’s personal doctor replied, shaking his head. “I’ll be honest. Even if it was stained with ink, it wouldn’t wash away in just a day or two.”
Turning to the operating doctor, he added, “This machine must be faulty, right? Is something wrong?”
The doctor quickly responded, “That’s impossible. We conducted a thorough examination after receiving the notification.”
Johnson frowned and said, “This is strange.” He zoomed in on today’s enhanced CT scan again and muttered, “It shouldn’t look this good. The pancreas appears healthy. There’s nothing wrong with it.”
“What the hell,” another doctor said, scratching his chin in confusion. “No matter how much treatment is given, it can’t have such a good effect. This is related to pancreatic cancer; there’s no cure for that.”
Johnson replied,
“Let’s wait for the CA199 results. If that number goes down too, we can be sure he’s cured,” the doctor said.
Then he added, “Please have the nurse take Hank back to his room. I’ll come by later to ask him what treatment he got in China.”
The nurses quickly and carefully brought Hank back to his ward.
His personal doctor came in first, looking surprised. “Mr. Hank, what did you do in China? Did you go to a hospital for treatment?”
Hank didn’t answer right away. Instead, he asked, “What are my CT results?”
The doctor replied, “The results are quite unusual. There’s no mass in your pancreas anymore.”
Hank’s eyes widened in shock and joy. “Really? It’s true! I’m healed! This is amazing!”
