Chapter 2812
“Be quiet! How dare you disobey my orders?” Suo Xing Yue glared at Zhu Zhu fiercely.
“Master, the pill refiner examination ground in Jia Ling County requires at least a third-grade upper-level pill master qualification. Do you really think this guy qualifies?”
“I’ve only just reached that standard myself, so this person definitely isn’t qualified.”
“It would be a waste of my time to take him there…” Zhu Zhu dismissed Kai, believing his low rank meant he lacked the necessary skills in pill refining.
“When I say go, you go! Enough with the excuses!” Suo Xing Yue’s anger was palpable, and her expression darkened.
Seeing her master truly upset, Zhu Zhu fell silent.
“Mr. Chen, please forgive her; I’ve spoiled this disciple of mine…” Suo Xing Yue offered an apology.
“No worries!” Kai replied with a light smile. “However, I do need Elder Suo’s assistance with my friend.”
“Rest assured, Mr. Chen. Once my senior brother and the others return, we will consult with you right away,” Suo Xing Yue assured him.
Following Zhu Zhu, Kai made his way toward the Pill Master Examination Grounds in Jia Ling County. As he was unfamiliar with the area, he kept close behind her.
Zhu Zhu wore a cold expression and didn’t speak a word to Kai.
As they approached the examination ground, they suddenly spotted a man in white robes, elegantly dressed and wielding a long sword.
Accompanying him were several girls, laughing and chatting as if they were out shopping.
Upon seeing the man, Zhu Zhu’s eyes lit up, and she ran after him, calling out, “Big Brother Meng!”
The man turned, and upon noticing Zhu Zhu, he smiled slightly. “Zhu Zhu, what brings you out shopping? Doesn’t your master restrict your outings?”
“I’m taking someone to the examination ground for the pill refiner test. I didn’t expect to see you! It’s wonderful… I’ve missed you these past two days and even dreamt about you last night!” Zhu Zhu’s face flushed with embarrassment after her words.
Observing Zhu Zhu’s reaction, Kai quickly realized she had feelings for the man before her.
The man, however, maintained a neutral expression and shifted the topic. “Zhu Zhu, is this your new junior brother that your master has taken in for you?”
“He’s quite talented…” the man noted, stepping closer to Kai to size him up. “Hello, I’m Meng He.”
“Hello, I’m Kai!” Kai introduced himself in return.
Upon hearing Kai’s name, Meng He froze for a moment, his expression changing to one of recognition. “Kai? Why does that sound so familiar?”
Suddenly, Meng He’s eyes widened, fixating on Kai. “You… you are the Kai mentioned by Elder Shi, who possesses three Heavenly Thunder Fruits?”
Kai remained silent, neither confirming nor denying the claim, but he was aware that word about the Heavenly Thunder Fruits had likely spread quickly.
Seeing Kai’s silence, Meng He inferred the truth and looked at him with envy. “I can’t believe you have three Heavenly Thunder Fruits at such a young age. I genuinely envy you…”
“Brother Meng, what are Heavenly Thunder Fruits?” Zhu Zhu asked, her curiosity piqued.
“They’re just a type of medicinal herb; nothing special,” Meng He replied dismissively.
“If you like them, Brother Meng, I can give you some. We have plenty of medicinal herbs in the Danyang Sect,” Zhu Zhu offered innocently.
Meng He smiled but chose not to respond.
“Miss Zhu Zhu, we should get moving…” Kai suggested.
Zhu Zhu shot Kai a bewildered glance before turning back to Meng He, her expression softening. “Brother Meng, I’ll take him to the examination first and come visit you later.”
Meng He nodded, then left with the group of girls.
Zhu Zhu watched Meng He depart, captivated, until he was out of sight. It was only then that she snapped back to reality!
