After the clerk took the token, his eyes widened in surprise. “Where did you get this token?”

His tone was a bit harsh, which immediately made Kai feel irritated.

“How I got it is none of your business. Just tell me if you can exchange it for money,” Kai replied coldly.

“Then wait a moment!” the clerk said, handing the token back to Kai before hurrying to the back.

Soon after, a middle-aged man in a gray robe emerged. Seeing Kai and the other two, he smiled warmly. “I’m the shopkeeper here. Please, the three of you, come inside.”

Since the shopkeeper seemed polite, Kai and the others followed him in.

But as soon as they entered the room, Kai sensed the magic circle in the room activate instantly.

His expression darkened, and he immediately grabbed the shopkeeper.

The sudden activation of the magic circle couldn’t mean anything good.

But the shopkeeper’s figure vanished in an instant and reappeared behind them.

Hu Mazi and Xiu Rui reacted quickly, turning to attack the shopkeeper.

However, with a simple press of his palm, the shopkeeper filled the entire room with immense pressure.

Kai and Hu Mazi felt as though mountains were weighing down on them—they couldn’t move at all.

“What are you trying to do?” Kai demanded, staring at the shopkeeper.

“Where did this token come from?” the shopkeeper asked sharply, his tone no longer courteous.

“Someone gave it to me,” Kai answered.

“Who gave it to you?”

“Niu Li. I believe she’s the princess of Rhino City,” Kai replied.

Upon hearing the name Niu Li, the shopkeeper casually waved his hand, and the pressure in the room vanished.

“How much are you looking to pawn this token for?” the shopkeeper asked.
“Ten thousand immortal coins,” Kai said after thinking for a moment.

Since the shopkeeper had withdrawn the pressure and softened his attitude after hearing Niu Li’s name, it seemed her title as a princess held significant weight.

“Don’t be so greedy. If you ask for that much, he might not give it,” Hu Mazi whispered, gently tugging at the corner of Kai’s clothes.

Xiu Rui also felt that Kai’s asking price was a bit much—surely the shopkeeper wouldn’t agree.

After all, two women only cost five hundred immortal coins. How many women could be bought with ten thousand?

But the shopkeeper didn’t hesitate in the slightest. “Not much,” he said, tossing a storage bag to Kai.

Kai stared at the bag in disbelief, stunned.

He hadn’t expected the shopkeeper to agree so readily. This token must be worth far more than he imagined—he should have asked for even more.

“Damn, I asked for too little,” Kai thought, filled with regret, though it was already too late.

“The holding period is ten days. If you don’t redeem it by then, the item will belong to our Tianbao Pavilion,” the shopkeeper said calmly.

“No problem,” Kai nodded, then left with Hu Mazi and Xiu Rui.

As the trio walked away, clearly pleased, the shopkeeper’s lips curled into a subtle smile.

“Shopkeeper, do you think they’ll come back to redeem the token?” the clerk asked.

“No. They have no idea how valuable it really is. If they did, they never would have pawned it,” the shopkeeper replied.

“That token from the princess… and she gave it to someone just guided by the Great Dao? How intriguing.”

His eyes narrowed slightly, filled with curiosity.

Then he took out a finely crafted wooden box and carefully placed the token inside.

Forcing out a drop of his own blood, he let it fall onto the box. Immediately, it emitted a strange red glow.

Meanwhile, as Kai and the others exited Tianbao Pavilion, the burly man from earlier was still waiting outside. Seeing Kai, he hurried over and asked, “Did you manage to exchange it for immortal coins?”
