Chapter 4983
“My name is Aisha. I’m from the Cangxuan Continent. Feihu City plundered our land—besides stealing our resources, they also captured tens of thousands of our people as slaves.”
“I finally managed to escape from prison. Please, I beg you to help me. If you save me, my father will make sure you’re well rewarded.”
Aisha pleaded with Kai.
Kai hadn’t expected Aisha to be a princess.

“Don’t talk nonsense. The Cangxuan Continent is protected by natural barriers and countless formations. It’s remained untouched for generations. How could Feihu City possibly plunder it?”
Bai Yi interjected skeptically.
“Father-in-law, you know about the Cangxuan Continent?” Kai asked, intrigued.
“Of course. It’s the most prosperous and resource-rich region of the human race. Many powerful human experts reside there.”
“Forget Feihu City—once, even the King of Ten Thousand Beasts gathered forces from several beast cities to attack the Cangxuan Continent, but they all failed and returned empty-handed.”
Bai Yi explained as he walked with Kai.
Kai agreed that Bai Yi’s reasoning made sense. He turned to Aisha with a puzzled look, waiting for her explanation.
“If it were just Feihu City, they could never have breached our defenses. But they had help—mysterious outsiders. These people were incredibly powerful. They destroyed both our natural barriers and protective formations. That’s how Feihu City managed to invade.”
Aisha explained.
After hearing that, Kai quickly understood. These “mysterious outsiders” had to be from the temple. Feihu City must have become one of the temple’s pawns, which is why they were able to attack the Cangxuan Continent.
“Alright, enough talk. We need to get out of here first.”
Kai knew this hiding spot wasn’t secure and could be discovered at any time.
He put his helmet back on, and the group of four began escorting Aisha out of the area.
Wearing soldier armor, they wouldn’t draw suspicion while moving her. But just as they approached the city gate, a squad of warriors suddenly blocked their path.
One of the captains stepped forward and said, “I didn’t expect you to catch her. Hand her over to me—you can go take a rest.”
“Captain, we’re the ones who caught her. Why should we hand her over to you?”
Kai questioned firmly.
“You insolent fool! I’m the captain—how dare you talk back? Do you have a death wish?”
The captain snarled and stepped forward to kick Kai.
Swish!
But the moment the captain moved, a flash of cold light streaked through the air. Kai acted instantly—his Dragon Slaying Sword slashed through, and the captain’s head flew high into the sky.
Seeing Kai strike, Fengxian, Bai Yi, and Aisha also sprang into action.
They had to eliminate the entire squad quickly to prevent anyone from raising the alarm.
Unfortunately, no matter how fast they were, one soldier managed to let out a piercing alarm before dying.
In an instant, soldiers from all over the city began to swarm toward Kai and his group.
“What do we do now?” Aisha asked anxiously.
“Follow me!”
Without hesitation, Kai led everyone toward Lord Huo’s mansion.
Soldiers were everywhere now, and their only hope was the teleportation array inside the mansion. If they could reach the small town via teleportation, they might still escape.
They arrived at the mansion, finding it completely deserted—no guards in sight. In the center courtyard stood a circular formation, clearly the teleportation array.
Kai and the others quickly shed their armor. Now that they had been exposed, the armor was useless and only slowed them down.
“Brother, do you know how to use this teleportation array?”
Crazy Immortal asked, looking at Kai.
