“Since you’re being obedient, then answer my questions. Otherwise, I have a hundred ways to kill you,” Kai said to Master Huo.

“O-Okay, okay! Ask me anything, I’ll tell you everything I know,” Master Huo replied, nodding frantically.

At this point, Master Huo was scared out of his mind and willing to do whatever Kai told him.

“If there’s a teleportation array in this city that leads to the small mountain town, then shouldn’t there be others that lead to different places?” Kai asked.

If he was planning to escape, he couldn’t rely on the path to the mountain town. Huo Zhao was likely still in the city, and everyone here seemed to be from the temple—far stronger than the soldiers in Flying Tiger City.

“I… I don’t know!” Master Huo said, shaking his head.

“Bullshit! How could you not know?” the Crazy Immortal shouted, stepping forward and punching Master Huo, who cried out in pain.

“I’m telling the truth! I really don’t know!” Master Huo trembled violently, veins bulging on his forehead as he screamed.

Fengxian landed several more punches in a row.

Seeing Master Huo coughing up blood and on the verge of collapse, Kai raised his hand. “Enough. It looks like he really doesn’t know.”

Fengxian stopped. Master Huo sobbed and said, “I swear I don’t know! My father never lets me wander. He only allowed me to teleport here. I don’t know anything about other teleportation arrays.”

“Useless,” Fengxian growled, glaring at him.

“My dear son-in-law,” Bai Yi said to Kai, “since he doesn’t know about any teleportation arrays, let’s just walk out of here wearing the soldiers’ armor. With Master Huo leading us, who would dare stop us?”

“That’s our best option. It might be slower, but it should work,” Kai agreed. Then, the group put on the soldiers’ armor again.

“Listen carefully,” Kai said to Master Huo. “You’re taking us out of here. Try anything funny, and you’ll face the consequences.”

Kai threatened Master Huo.

“I wouldn’t dare—absolutely not!” Master Huo shook his head repeatedly.

Soon, under Master Huo’s lead, Kai and his group successfully left the city. No one dared to stop them.

However, Kai had no intention of letting Master Huo go. Though they had exited the city, to truly leave the territory of Feihu City, they still needed Master Huo’s identity.

……………

A small mountain town.

After Huo Zhao arrived with the Eight Halls of the Temple, the entire town became occupied by temple members.

Huo Zhao was recuperating in a hidden chamber. His recent trip to the Heavenly World had left him badly injured.

“Palace Master, Rhino City suddenly launched an attack on Feihu City. It’s in complete chaos now,”

“The Master has been away from the temple for some time—we don’t know his current whereabouts.”

An elderly man in a coarse linen robe entered as he spoke.

Huo Zhao opened his eyes and looked at the old man. “Grand Elder, did Rhino City start the war because of the treasure land?”

“It appears so,” the elder replied. “Jie Zhong captured the son of the Gadfly, the lord of Rhino City, and tried to trade him for the treasure land.”

“But the Gadfly didn’t rescue his son. Instead, he launched an attack. That treasure land must be of great importance to Rhino City.”

“The treasure land hasn’t opened yet. Let them fight among themselves—there’s no need to rush.”

“Take some men and retrieve the prince. Stay out of the beasts’ conflict.”

Huo Zhao gave the order.

“Yes,” the elder nodded. Just as he turned to leave, Huo Zhao’s expression suddenly shifted. “Damn it… out of the city?”

“That fool! I told him not to leave the city—and he actually did it! Take more men, now! Bring the prince back at all costs!”

“Understood!” The elder vanished in a flash.
