Mo Qingyun’s expression darkened.
“It must be Huo Zhao. It seems the Eighth Palace Master truly refuses to give up!”

Kai’s eyes glinted with cold light.
“Looks like he’s trying to kill us using someone else’s hand.”

Lan Lianhua gritted her teeth.
“Let’s go! We’ll head out to support them immediately!”

Everyone rose and prepared to leave the floating island.

Kai glanced back at the mysterious island, a trace of reluctance in his heart. But given the urgency of the moment, he had no choice but to postpone his investigation.

“After dealing with the demon clan, I’ll come back and uncover the truth!” he vowed inwardly.

Yet just as they were about to depart, a faint golden light flickered deep within the island—quiet, almost imperceptible—as if responding to something unseen…

Kai and the group rushed to the border of Cangxuan Continent. By the time they arrived, tens of thousands of cultivators had already assembled!

The King of Dongmeng, the King of Chelie, and Ashnu had all led their people to defend against the Bone Erosion King’s assault.

As Kai and the others approached, they saw a vast, dark aura sweeping across the land. The sky was overcast with swirling black clouds, and the air was thick with the stench of war.

“Has the Bone Erosion King gone mad? Why is he pushing this fight to the brink?”
Ashnu gripped his battle axe tightly, bewildered yet ready for battle.

Many Cangxuan cultivators stared ahead with wide eyes, gripping their weapons, holding their breath.

Although the battlefield was filled with tens of thousands of people, an eerie silence hung in the air. The atmosphere was suffocating. Kai hovered midair, staring into the darkness—he could even smell the faint stench of decay.

War was imminent.

Cangxuan Continent had already endured the assault from Feihu City, the siege from the Eight Palaces, and now, an attack from Bone Erosion City…

Each strike had been a devastating blow. Once home to hundreds of thousands of cultivators, Cangxuan Continent could now barely rally a force of tens of thousands.

The cultivators of Cangxuan Continent, sensing the breath of death all around them, wore solemn expressions—some even began to tremble uncontrollably.

Aisha stood among the crowd. Though she was a princess of a kingdom, at a moment when the fate of the entire continent hung in the balance, even Xuannv had stepped forward—what significance did her title hold now?

Rumble…

From within the darkness, movement finally stirred. The earth trembled, a terrifying aura surged from the distance, and the black mist poured in like a raging flood.

“Get ready…”
Lan Lianhua shouted, and every cultivator in Cangxuan Continent braced themselves.

Kai summoned the Dragon Slaying Sword, eyes fixed on the encroaching black fog, which surged forward like a monstrous tide threatening to engulf the entire continent.

Mo Qingyun and Hu Mazi also stood at the ready. This battle would determine Cangxuan Continent’s very survival.

The black mist rolled in like a sentient beast, smearing the sky into a thick, ink-black shroud.

The Dragon Slaying Sword grew hot in Kai’s hand. Ancient runes carved along the blade glowed faintly, as though signaling the looming catastrophe.

By now, the mysterious golden light from the floating island had faded from memory. All focus was on the border—soon to be swallowed by the tide of darkness—that now bore the fate of the entire continent.

“Your Majesty, the spiritual fluctuations at the northwest defense line are weakening!”

The Dongmeng State Master’s voice quivered. The spirit-measuring plate in his hands spun wildly, the needle nearly carving a crack into the dial.

King Che Wuji of Chelie State gripped the gilded soft sword at his waist, his knuckles pale from tension.
“Issue the order—have the shield armor camp retreat three miles and form the tortoise shell formation!”

Before his words even faded, the ground split open with spiderweb-like cracks. From the fissures seeped a foul, black liquid that hissed as it touched fabric—monks’ robes instantly corroded into charred holes.

Princess Aisha’s silver armor shimmered with a faint blue defensive light, but her hand clutching the spear trembled slightly.
