“They don’t seem like ordinary puppets.”

Kai murmured, his hand already on his storage ring, ready to draw a weapon if needed.

At that tense moment, one of the warriors suddenly dropped to one knee, and a hoarse voice echoed from within the armor:

“We were ordered by the master to guard the inheritance.”

These warriors were still conscious? Who was the ‘master’ they mentioned?

Could it be the mysterious old man he had absorbed?

One of the warriors slowly raised his head, staring at Kai with bloodshot eyes. “Master…”

Before the word was fully spoken, both warriors turned into streaks of black light and plunged into Kai’s body!

“Follow me!”

Kai’s eyes gleamed with golden light as he quickly locked onto a faint glow—the teleportation array they had used to enter!

But the array had already started falling apart. The runes were dimming and looked ready to fail at any moment.

“We’re running out of time!”

Clenching his teeth, Kai shoved Mo Qingyun toward the teleportation array. “You go first!”

“What about you?” Mo Qingyun cried out.

“I’ll find another way!”

Before Mo Qingyun could respond, Kai struck the array with his palm, channeling spiritual energy into it and forcefully activating the last trace of power.
