Boom…

Cracks began to form at the edges of the floating island, and massive boulders plummeted like meteorites, sending clouds of dust billowing into the air.

“Run! The floating island is about to crash!”

Countless cultivators scattered in all directions as panic swept through the area.

Just when it seemed like the end of the world was upon them, two figures suddenly shot out from the center of the floating island!

“It’s Mr. Chen! And Qingyun!”

Lan Lianhua’s beautiful eyes narrowed in focus, and she immediately led her people forward to greet them.

“Mr. Chen, what happened?” she asked anxiously.

Kai steadied himself and said in a serious tone, “The floating island isn’t a real island—it’s the entrance to an ancient ruin. Now that the ruin has collapsed, the island can no longer hold together.”

“What?” Everyone was stunned.

“This isn’t the place to talk. Let’s return first and discuss everything there.”

Kai said firmly.

Lan Lianhua nodded and promptly escorted Kai and Mo Qingyun back to her palace.

There, Kai recounted everything that had happened in detail.

After listening, Lan Lianhua couldn’t help but feel a wave of regret.

“This floating island has existed in the Cangxuan Continent for so many years, and yet we never realized it was actually an entrance to a ruin.”

Lan Lianhua spoke with deep remorse.

After a pause, she noticed a significant shift in Kai’s aura and asked with curiosity, “Kai… what realm have you reached now?”

Kai smiled faintly. “The third level of the Scattered Immortal Realm.”

“What?!”

Lan Lianhua was stunned.

Before entering the ruins, Kai had only reached the first level of the Scattered Immortal Realm. Yet in just two days, he had advanced by two levels?

Such cultivation speed was simply unheard of!

Kai only smiled and remained silent. If he explained too much, it would only deepen Lan Lianhua’s regret.

This opportunity had originally belonged to the Cangxuan Continent. Yet no one had realized the floating island concealed an entrance to the ruins—thus the chance had been wasted.

“Xuan Nu, how is Huo Jingjing?” Kai asked Lan Lianhua.
After being with Huo Jingjing, Kai left. He had no idea what had happened to her since.

Given the pride of the God Clan, he assumed Huo Jingjing might have taken her own life—unable to accept being defiled by someone they considered an inferior race.

“She’s fine now. She doesn’t cause trouble and eats on time every day.”

“But she’s mentioned several times that she wants to see you. I told her you weren’t around,” Lan Lianhua said.

Kai was taken aback, a bit puzzled. Could it be that Huo Jingjing had been forced into what happened and didn’t hate him as much as he thought?

With that, Kai got up and decided to visit her.

In the dungeon, he found Huo Jingjing sitting quietly.

When she saw him, she stood up—not with rage as he had expected, but with calm.

“Kai…”

Huo Jingjing looked at him with a complicated expression.

Gone was the arrogance from before; now, there was even a trace of softness in her eyes.

“What’s with that look?” Kai raised his brows, sounding annoyed.

When dealing with a woman like her, he knew he had to assert dominance.

Huo Jingjing bit her lip and asked softly, “Where have you been these past two days?”

“What does that have to do with you? Do I need to report to you?”

Kai responded coldly.

“No, no—I’m not trying to control you. It’s just that… I’ve been so confused these past two days.”

She waved her hands as she spoke.

“Why?” Kai stared at her. “Is it because I took you… and now you’re conflicted?”

“Yes,” Huo Jingjing nodded.

“I’m sorry. I acted on impulse,” Kai said.

“You didn’t do anything to be sorry for,” she replied, shaking her head. “Will you come in and sit with me for a bit?”

Kai hesitated, then nodded and opened the cell door.

As soon as he stepped inside and closed it, Huo Jingjing suddenly turned and threw herself into his arms.

“Kai… I think I’ve started to like you,” she said, gazing up at him.
