Initially, Kai had considered forcing the coffin open, but he was worried that whatever was inside might be destroyed.

The runes on the coffin were quite unusual. They weren’t array runes, but more like sealing symbols.

Since Hu Mazi was highly skilled in this kind of sealing technique, Kai had brought the coffin to him for examination.

“Damn, you’re really unlucky. How did you end up with a coffin?” Hu Mazi frowned when he saw it.

“Master Hu, this coffin is a treasure…” Kai explained what had happened at the ruins.

Upon hearing the story, Hu Mazi became intrigued. He leaned in to study the coffin and examined the runes carefully.

“This coffin was sealed by someone—not to keep others from opening it, but to prevent what’s inside from getting out.”

“These sealing runes are designed to suppress whatever’s sealed inside,” Hu Mazi said after a closer inspection.

“You mean there’s a person in this coffin?” Kai was slightly shocked.

“I’m only guessing. Let’s open it and see,” Hu Mazi replied. He gently placed his right hand on the coffin and began chanting. In an instant, the runes started to tremble, then began to unravel on their own.

Kai grew tense at the sight.

At the same time, a Dragon-Slaying Sword appeared in his hand.

If anything dangerous emerged, he was ready to strike immediately.

As the runes disintegrated, the coffin began to shake. Kai pulled Hu Mazi back, and the two watched closely.

Soon, the coffin slowly opened a crack, and a pale, delicate hand reached out from within.

Judging by the visible palm, there was clearly a person inside.

Kai gripped the Dragon-Slaying Sword tightly, prepared for any threat.

Hu Mazi quickly drew a spell using his blood and essence, ready to suppress whatever emerged.

Just as both men stared at the coffin, tense and ready to act, two black mists suddenly burst out from Kai’s body.

Without warning, two ancient warriors appeared.
After the two warriors appeared, the pale hand suddenly froze, then retracted, and the coffin closed again.

Kai was puzzled—why had the two ancient warriors emerged on their own without being summoned?

Could it be because of the coffin?

With no other option, Kai reabsorbed the two warriors into his body, then said toward the coffin, “Come out, it’s okay now.”

Since it was clear someone was inside, there should be a way to communicate.

But no matter how long Kai spoke, the coffin remained still.

He then stepped forward and tried to open it again, but after several attempts, it became clear that the coffin was locked from the inside and couldn’t be opened.

“Damn it, I don’t believe this…”

Kai raised the Dragon-Slaying Sword, intending to cut the coffin open.

“Boy, seal the coffin again. If whatever’s inside gets out, you’ll be in trouble,”

At that moment, the Red Cloud Demon Lord’s voice echoed in Kai’s sea of consciousness.

Kai was startled and asked, “Senior, do you know what’s inside?”

“I don’t, but I know that opening it will bring you trouble,”

the Red Cloud Demon Lord replied.

Hearing this, Kai gave up the idea of forcing the coffin open. He asked Hu Mazi to place a sealing talisman on it once more.

After resealing the coffin and storing it back in his storage ring, Kai decided to wait until he was stronger to open the two mysterious coffins.

Now that he knew there were people inside rather than treasures or resources, his interest had lessened.

Just as Kai put the coffin away, someone came looking for him.

“Mr. Chen, the Xuannv has summoned you!”

the person said.

Kai was confused, unsure of what the Blue Lotus wanted with him.

When he arrived at the main hall, both Lan Lianhua and Mo Qingyun were already there.

“Xuannv, may I ask why you called for me?” Kai inquired.
