An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2297
Kaden’s arrival as the Sage of Sacred Wrym Summit caused quite a stir. People of all ages and genders gathered to congratulate him, showing their respect.
Though Sacred Wrym Summit usually stayed out of the martial world, it was highly respected by martial artists. No matter what Kaden’s past was, wearing the Sage’s robe earned him admiration.
“It’s an honor to have you all here at Sacred Wrym Summit,” Kaden said with a smile and a respectful gesture. “If I fall short in my hospitality, please forgive me.”
He remained calm and poised, showing no signs of arrogance.
“Not at all! Sacred Wrym Summit is a paradise. It’s a privilege to be here,” someone replied.
“I’ve heard so much about you, Sage Foyer. Meeting you in person confirms everything!” another added.
“The Combat Tournament at Sacred Wrym Summit is a great chance for us to showcase our skills. You really know how to set the stage,” said yet another voice.
Compliments flowed in as everyone rushed to flatter Kaden. It was smart to keep good relations with Sacred Wrym Summit.
“Thank you for your kind words. Please, take your seats,” Kaden replied. After a few more polite exchanges, he gestured for everyone to sit down. He then returned to his main seat in front of the battle ring with Oron and Caleb.
As Kaden settled in, guildmasters and leaders from various guilds began to arrive.
“Look! It’s the Sword Union!” someone exclaimed.
Gasps filled the air as a fierce-looking middle-aged man in white entered, surrounded by several disciples. His long hair streamed behind him, and his handsome face wore a cold, detached look, sending an icy chill through the crowd.
People instinctively stepped aside, showing either respect or fear for the imposing figure. This was Cyrus Hadley, the guildmaster of the Sword Union.
Cyrus stood tall, ranked second on the Champ-Tier List. Behind him were two men and a woman, all young members of the Sword Union. The most impressive among them was Glenn Hadley, a young man known for carrying five long swords and exuding a powerful aura. He was the top ace on the Legendary List.
Together, Cyrus and Glenn looked like a formidable sword, their presence striking fear into anyone who dared to look at them.
“Wow, their presence is intense! That sword aura is terrifying. Is this what the Sword Union is like?” someone murmured.
“I need to step back. It feels like danger is looming!” another whispered.
As the Sword Union arrived, they quickly grabbed everyone’s attention. Unlike the warm welcome Kaden received, Cyrus and Glenn created an atmosphere of fear and caution. People instinctively moved away, sensing a threat before the duo even got close.
The Sword Union usually kept to themselves and didn’t act aggressively unless provoked. But their mere presence seemed to signal trouble, making other guilds wary.
“Mr. Hadley,” Kaden said with a friendly smile, nodding respectfully as Cyrus approached.
“Sage Foyer,” Cyrus replied with a nod.
“Please, have a seat,” Kaden gestured, inviting Cyrus and his group to sit next to him.
“Thank you,” Cyrus said as he settled down with his three disciples.
Their exchange was brief but polite. Since Kaden was new to his role and Cyrus preferred a quiet life, this was their first meeting, and they didn’t know each other well.
“Is that the guildmaster of the Sword Union? He looks impressive!” Aurora remarked, watching Cyrus with keen interest.
Alicia had heard Alloy talk about Cyrus before. Her father said Cyrus was proud and distant, but his sword skills were unmatched. Alloy also mentioned that Cyrus was one of the few people who could one day become a terrestrial immortal.
“The Sword Union may be small, but they are strong for a reason,” Alicia sighed. The Sword Union had Cyrus, a powerful guildmaster, and Glenn, a fierce warrior. With leaders like these, their guild was set to become even stronger in the future.
While the Celestial Alliance seemed to be doing well, it lacked standout experts. In contrast, the Sword Union thrived because of its unity. The Celestial Alliance, on the other hand, struggled with internal conflicts, as different groups fought for their own interests. Even Alloy, as the guildmaster, couldn’t change this situation. If things continued like this, the Celestial Alliance could eventually fall apart.
“Glenn!” Fenley’s eyes narrowed as he focused on the young man with five swords on his back. His gaze was intense and full of determination. The Sword Union and the Celestial Alliance had always been rivals, and Fenley often found himself compared to Glenn. Ever since Glenn made a name for himself, he had always been just ahead of Fenley, which fueled Fenley’s deep resentment.
Now, Fenley was ready to take this opportunity to defeat Glenn in front of everyone and build his own reputation.
“Hm?” Glenn, sitting in the stands, suddenly turned his head. His sharp gaze met Fenley’s, as intense as a blade.
Unfazed, Fenley held his stare, igniting a fierce rivalry between them.
