An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2308
When Jeremiah looked at Truce, he couldn’t help but laugh. His eyes glowed with a fierce hunger, like a predator spotting its prey.
He didn’t say a word. With a powerful kick, he turned into a blur and charged at Truce with terrifying speed.
“Fool! You’re sealing your own doom!” Truce shouted as he saw Jeremiah’s fearless approach. He roared and swung a massive punch.
Truce wore his Celestial Aegis armor, which made his defense nearly unbreakable. It also boosted his speed and strength.
At first glance, the punch seemed ordinary, but it was much stronger than his previous Banisher Technique.
Jeremiah, moving too fast to dodge, crashed into Truce’s fist. At the same time, his sharp claws slashed across Truce’s chest.
There was a loud explosion as Jeremiah was sent flying several yards by the powerful Zenith Punch. His chest caved in and his scales shattered, leaving him looking badly hurt.
Truce was also pushed back a few steps. The golden light of his armor flickered for a moment but quickly stabilized.
“Great hit!” the spectators cheered, thrilled by Jeremiah’s defeat. Applause and cheers filled the air.
The Celestial Aegis truly lived up to its name as invincible armor. Even though Jeremiah could slice through shadowsteel with his claws, his attacks had no effect on Truce’s golden armor.
Truce’s single punch had delivered a crushing blow.
“Beast! You’d better stop being stubborn, or I won’t hold back anymore!” Truce warned.
After their clash, any smart fighter would have recognized the clear difference in their strength.
Suddenly, Jeremiah let out a low, sinister laugh as he stood up. His caved-in chest began to heal right before their eyes.
In just moments, Jeremiah’s wounds completely healed.
“Huh?” Truce frowned, clearly concerned.
Jeremiah had strong defenses, and his ability to recover was frightening.
“Interesting… This is getting more exciting,” Jeremiah said with a smile. His face showed a mix of excitement and madness, and his eyes burned with a wild intensity.
“You’ve got me fired up now. I can barely hold myself back. Come on, my prey, let me tear you apart!” He spread his arms wide, revealing his deadly claws, and charged at Truce with a frenzied energy. At that moment, he looked like a hungry beast, so different from his calm self just moments before.
“Stubborn fool!” Truce scoffed.
He transformed into a streak of blazing golden light and flew straight at Jeremiah. If words weren’t working, he would use his fists to make his point clear.
A thunderous boom sounded as they collided, one figure dressed in black and the other in gold. They quickly engaged in a fierce hand-to-hand fight. Fists and kicks flew as neither fighter was willing to back down.
The sounds of their battle grew louder, like a series of firecrackers going off. Energy waves rolled outward as they clashed again and again.
In the arena, their movements were so fast that it looked like each attack created several afterimages. The spectators below struggled to keep up with the action.
They could only catch brief glimpses of the black and gold figures as they tangled and fought. It was impossible to tell who was winning.
“Wow, that speed is unbelievable! I can barely keep up with my eyes!” one person exclaimed.
“Wow! I didn’t expect that priest to hold his own so well. Even with Venerable…” another added.
“Venerable Truce is still going strong despite his relentless attacks,” someone remarked.
“Even though we can’t see their moves, the Celestial Aegis makes him nearly invincible. The only question is how long it will take for him to win,” another replied.
“Exactly! That priest might be tough, but he has to have his limits. With Truce’s strength and abilities, victory is just a matter of time,” the first person agreed.
In the battle ring, the two fighters moved with incredible speed, and the crowd erupted with noise. Some spectators were worried, but most believed in Truce’s victory.
To them, the Celestial Aegis was an impenetrable shield that only the greatest masters could break through. They couldn’t picture Truce losing.
Another loud crash rang out in the battle ring.
Truce, glowing in golden light, punched Jeremiah. The force of the blow sent Jeremiah flying back several yards, dislocating his shoulder.
In an instant, Jeremiah shook his shoulder, and it popped back into place as if nothing had happened. With a wild grin, he charged back into the fight, giving it everything he had.
“How is this guy still standing?” Truce scowled.
He had landed over 100 powerful blows on Jeremiah, but no matter how badly he was hurt, Jeremiah bounced back quickly. His resilience was astonishing.
So far, Truce hadn’t gained the upper hand. Although the Celestial Aegis protected him, he knew things would get worse if this continued. His stamina and energy were starting to run low.
