An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2310
“Wow! He did it! Venerable Truce won!”
“Yeah! He really took that guy down. Venerable Truce is amazing!”
“Even though he lost, that guy should be proud for lasting so long against Venerable Truce.”
The crowd erupted in cheers as they watched Jeremiah get thrown to the ground by Truce’s powerful move, Vengeful Gaze. Spectators in Dragonmarsh jumped up, clapping loudly for Truce.
The first match of the day was thrilling. Both fighters gave it their all, trading blows in an intense duel that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The excitement was palpable.
This was the true spirit of a martial arts fight.
“Phew… Is it over now?” Truce wiped the sweat from his forehead and started to relax. That last move had taken a lot out of him, but it was worth it since he had beaten Jeremiah.
Just as the crowd continued to cheer, the rubble in the center of the ring began to shake. Small stones began to slide down, making a soft clattering sound.
“What’s happening?” Truce frowned, feeling a wave of unease.
Suddenly, the pile of rubble exploded. Dust filled the air, falling like a shower of ash.
From the thick cloud of dust, Jeremiah emerged, covered in black scales and with glowing red eyes.
His low, sinister laugh echoed around the arena. His eyes, once human, were now slitted and filled with a fierce, animalistic rage. He looked like a demon.
With each step, the damaged scales and wounds on his body healed quickly. By the time he climbed out of the crater, he was completely healed and looked even more dangerous than before.
“You… You’re still alive?” Truce’s eyes widened in shock.
He had just given everything he had in that attack. It was unbelievable.
Jeremiah’s ultimate move was something no one below an ultimate grandmaster could withstand. Yet, there stood Jeremiah, completely unharmed.
The crowd was stunned into silence. Cheers and applause faded away as everyone gaped in disbelief.
They had just seen Truce’s final strike—a blow as unstoppable as a mountain falling. The battle ring, made from Abyssal stone, had been blasted into a deep crater.
A hit like that should have left Jeremiah a bloody mess. But he remained untouched. How powerful was his defense?
“You’ve forced me to use my second form. Impressive. But it’s still not enough,” Jeremiah sneered, showing his sharp teeth.
“You’ve had your chance. Now, it’s my turn.”
Before his words even finished, he vanished in a blur. He moved so quickly that even a skilled martial artist could barely see him.
“Watch your back!” someone shouted from the crowd.
Truce’s eyes widened in fear. He instinctively turned and threw a punch, but in the middle of his move, a deadly claw pierced through his chest.
The claw went in through his back and came out of his chest, blood dripping from its tip. What started as a few drops quickly became a steady stream.
“Ugh…” Truce trembled, frozen in shock.
His eyes widened as he looked down at the claw impaling him. His mind went blank, but he could faintly see something red pulsing within the claw’s grip.
“Is that… my heart?” The horrifying realization hit him. He struggled to keep his eyes open, desperate to see what was caught in the claw.
But in the next moment, the claw tightened and crushed the object inside with brutal force.
All strength seemed to drain from him.
Truce collapsed, his body going limp as darkness closed in around him.
“The scent of blood is so intoxicating,” Jeremiah said with a wicked smile. He flicked his wrist, sending Truce’s lifeless body flying several yards before it crashed outside the battle ring.
A heavy thud echoed through the venue as Truce hit the ground like a discarded bag of sand. Blood pooled around him, spreading in a disturbing red stain.
Silence fell over the crowd in shock.
Everyone stared at Truce’s still form, struggling to believe what they had just witnessed. Moments before, he had looked ready to win. Now, he was dead.
The suddenness of it all left no time for anyone to react. Truce, famous for his Adamantine Body Art and known for his nearly impenetrable defense, had been killed by a single blow?
How could this happen?
