An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2355
“The masters on the Legendary List are indeed tough, but we don’t back down easily at the Shadow Citadel. With my responsibilities, I have to take this chance. I hope you understand, Jude.” Dalen said calmly, a small smile on his face.
“Since you’re so confident, bring it on. I’m curious to see what you can do.” Jude replied, standing with his hands behind his back. He looked arrogant, almost daring Dalen to make a move.
He wouldn’t be so indifferent if he faced a strong opponent, but since Dalen was an unknown rookie, Jude didn’t think much of him. He believed it would only take a little of his time.
“Please forgive me,” Dalen said casually. He brought his hands together and then lunged forward, striking at Jude with his palm.
The strike seemed slow at first, but it was actually incredibly fast. A chill filled the air before Dalen’s hand even reached Jude.
As the icy wind swept by, the surface of the battle ring froze instantly. This was the Shadow Citadel’s signature move, the Glacial Strike.
Legend had it that this technique was powerful and cold enough to freeze anyone hit by it, potentially leaving them immobile or even lifeless.
By using his signature move right away, Dalen showed that he saw Jude as a serious threat. He knew he couldn’t afford to hold back against someone from the Legendary List; even a moment of hesitation could lead to his downfall.
The Glacial Strike hit Jude’s chest with a blast of icy wind. Instead of being surprised, Dalen frowned and quickly took a defensive stance.
In the next moment, the figure he had struck disappeared. Dalen
Dalen suddenly realized he hadn’t struck Jude’s real body; he had only hit an illusion.
“You’re too slow. You can’t even touch me,” Jude sneered from behind him.
Dalen turned to see Jude standing 30 feet away, hands behind his back and a mocking smile on his face. Without hesitation, Dalen charged again, attacking with even more speed and power, the air crackling around him like thunder.
Jude shook his head, scoffing. “It’s a futile effort.” To him, Dalen’s determination seemed foolish.
Dalen’s palm strike hit nothing but air, creating a loud sound that echoed in the venue, showcasing the strength of his attack.
“Hey! Where are you hitting? I’m right here,” Jude’s taunting voice rang out from behind.
Focusing on the sound, Dalen launched another palm strike without looking back. A white shadow from his palm shot forward, covering the distance, but Jude’s figure blurred again, as if he had never been there.
“You’re too slow. At this rate, you’ll tire yourself out before you even touch a hair on my head,” Jude continued to mock.
He darted around the battle ring like a ghost, moving from left to right, then in front, and finally behind Dalen. His movements were unpredictable and erratic.
Surprisingly, he left no trace as he executed his Spectral Sprint. No matter how Dalen attacked or chased him, he couldn’t even graze Jude’s clothing. It felt like Jude was playing with him, like a cat toying with a mouse.
“As expected of a master on the Legendary List, his Spectral Sprint Arts are incredible,” someone in the crowd whispered.
“The difference in their strengths is huge. They’re not even in the same league. Even without throwing a single punch, Jude’s speed keeps Dalen at bay,” another spectator remarked.
“It’s humiliating.”
The spectators watched Dalen being led around like a dog, and whispers began to spread among them. It was clear that Jude was playing with his opponent, and everyone knew the match was already decided. Whenever Jude grew bored, that would be when Dalen would lose.
“Crystal, Mr. Shade is in real trouble. If this keeps up, he’s definitely going to lose,” Ruby said, her brow furrowed with worry.
Every strike Dalen made missed its target, hitting nothing but air. His efforts were going nowhere.
“Even though he’s strong, he can’t match the fighters on the Legendary List,” Crystal said, shaking her head.
The top 16 fighters were all talented, but there was a huge difference in skill among them. The masters on the Legendary List were in a class of their own, while the others were just there to fill the spots.
“Come on! Move faster!”
“Why don’t you hit me once? I’m starting to feel sorry for you.”
“It’s hard to understand why you’d challenge me with such weak skills.”
“Have you ever seen a fool trying to take on something too big for him? It’s silly!”
“Well, guess what? You’re that fool right now.”
Jude danced around Dalen’s attacks, mocking him as if he were watching a clown perform.
Dalen didn’t respond; he just kept attacking. Each strike was faster and fiercer than the last, and he ignored his own exhaustion.
“I think you should give up. If you keep this up, you’ll wear yourself out. You need to know your limits—”
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind from Dalen’s palm cut through the air, interrupting Jude’s taunts. Unfortunately, Jude had just started to blur into his quick movements and couldn’t escape in time.
Dalen hit his target just right.
There was a loud explosion. Jude didn’t have enough time to move out of the way and felt a strong hit to his chest. The force of the blast sent him flying through the air.
