An Understated Dominance - Chapter 239
The Harmons were stunned to learn that the well-paid King of Kicks had deceived them instead of offering help. They felt lost and helpless in that moment.
On the other hand, the Boulderthorn guild was all smiles, completely different from the anger and frustration the Harmons were feeling.
“Hahaha, Ms. Harmon, your family has lost three rounds. Does anyone else want to step into the ring? If not, we’ll declare victory!” Brody sneered. Few knew that the King of Kicks was actually a good friend of Mr. Williams. This betrayal was all part of a plan to trap the Harmons.
“Oh no! Are the Harmons really leaving in defeat?” someone shouted.
“I was looking forward to an exciting battle tonight. Who knew it would turn into such a mess?” another person chimed in.
“At the end of the day, the Harmons fell into a trap. The King of Kicks they tried so hard to recruit turned out to be a traitor from the Boulderthorn guild!” someone else remarked.
“Strength wins! There’s no point in arguing. The Harmons are meant to lose!” another voice called out.
People were buzzing with gossip about the shocking turn of events. Some felt sorry for the Harmons, while others were secretly pleased about their downfall.
“Natasha, your King of Kicks is a fraud! What do we do now? Should we just accept defeat?” Quentin asked, looking both puzzled and critical.
Natasha bit her lip, unable to respond. The situation was spiraling out of her control, and she wondered if there was anyone who could turn things around.
“Ms. Harmon, is anyone from your side going into the ring? If you don’t have anyone else, just admit defeat. Stop wasting time,” Brody challenged her again.
“Yeah! Just concede! Don’t waste our time!” the Boulderthorn guild members chanted, leaving the Harmons silent and upset.
“I’ll go!” a strong voice suddenly echoed through the guild. Everyone turned to see a handsome man stepping forward.
stepped forward from the crowd. It was Dustin Rhys!
“Huh?” The people around him looked confused.
“Rhys! Are you serious? How bold of you to join the battle!” Quentin exclaimed, shocked but then chuckled at Dustin in disbelief.
“Dustin, stop fooling around! Even Mr. Wangsley and the others couldn’t handle the Boulderthorn guild. What do you think you can do? You’re risking your life!” Jessica scolded, but her main concern was the reputation of the Harmons, not Dustin’s safety. If he lost, it would hurt their family’s honor.
“Dustin, you don’t need to take this risk. If they want our stocks, we can just give them to them,” Natasha said, worried for him. No amount of money was worth his life.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine,” he replied with a smile. “I won’t give them our stocks, and I’ll protect our reputation!” With that, he stepped into the ring. He hadn’t wanted to fight, but he had to after the King of Kicks switched sides at the last moment.
“Sis, are you really going to let him do this?” Ruth asked, a bit worried.
“He’s not reckless. If he’s decided to fight, he must believe he can win,” Natasha said, trying to sound brave. But her eyes showed her concern. Still, she had to trust him during this crucial time.
“Kiddo, are you on a death wish? How dare you step into the ring?” Brody laughed maniacally, looking at Dustin as if he were already a goner. He had been plotting revenge against Dustin, and now it felt too easy.
“Who is that?” Maximus asked, confused.
“Max, that’s the inventor of Immortunol. He—”
“Brody explained, ‘She was the one who slapped me this morning.'”
