An Understated Dominance - Chapter 240
“Oh, it’s him,” Maximus said with a cool smile. “It’s pretty brave for a doctor to join the fight. Looks like the Harmons have run out of fighters.”
Dustin’s arrival surprised everyone in the Boulderthorn guild, including Julie and her group.
“Is he crazy? He can’t even beat me. What makes him think he can take on the Boulderthorn masters?”
Marsh was stunned by Dustin’s choice. Even Mr. Chapman had been badly beaten in the ring. How did someone like Dustin find the courage to step up?
“Hmph! He just wants to show off at a time like this. That’s asking for trouble,” Julie chuckled. She was eager to see Dustin get hurt on stage.
“You’re right! Even Otto knows better than to show off at a serious event. That guy is on a suicide mission!” The group of young people laughed at Dustin, thinking he was just seeking attention. A regular person shouldn’t get involved in a master battle; one tiny mistake could be deadly.
“Are you sure you want to fight for the Harmon family?” a hawk-nosed elder asked in a threatening tone. His voice was not loud, but everyone in the guild heard him clearly. He made it clear that anyone representing the Harmons would be seen as an enemy.
“Well, at least I’m not as shameless as those who took the money and then backed out, stabbing others in the back!” Dustin shot back fiercely. “Even dogs are grateful to those who help them. I guess some people are worse than animals.”
The audience gasped and whispered among themselves. They were already shocked by Dustin’s presence on stage, but now they were even more taken aback by his boldness in mocking the King of Kicks. Was Dustin Rhys really playing with fire?
“You punk! Do you…”
“Can you even hear what you’re saying?” The old man’s face fell.
“Why? Can’t handle the truth about your actions? You’re just a greedy, dishonest, and ungrateful jerk, aren’t you?” Dustin mocked him.
“You have a death wish!” The old man glared at Dustin, but Maximus stepped in before he could react. “Sir Cavaliere, we can’t break the battle rules. Save any personal grudges for after.”
“You punk! I hope you make it out alive!” The old man sneered, reluctantly taking his seat.
“Sir Cavaliere, stay calm. That punk is going to be history today.” Brody laughed and yelled toward the ring. “Chunkster, smash him! I’ll give you two extra mutton legs if you take him down!”
“Mutton leg! Mutton leg!” Chunkster giggled, his eyes bright with excitement as he focused on Dustin. Before the referee even started the match, he charged at Dustin with incredible speed and energy, like a powerful tank. Compared to Chunkster, Dustin looked thin and fragile.
“That guy is going to get crushed! Not even Mr. Chapman could beat Chunkster. Dustin Rhys is going to be minced meat in the ring,” Otto said, chuckling with anticipation.
Chapter 240
“He deserves it for showing off,” Julie said, crossing her arms as she waited for Dustin’s downfall.
Just when everyone thought this was a one-sided battle, Dustin suddenly sprang into action. He kicked off the ground and shot forward like a quick snake. As he got close to Chunkster, he leaped into the air and, with precision, tapped two fingers on the top of Chunkster’s head.
With a grunt, Chunkster…
He immediately blacked out in the ring. His round body rolled forward, propelled by the force, and he traveled about ten feet before finally stopping. Then, he fell off the platform with a loud thud. The audience gasped in shock, their mouths hanging open in disbelief.
