An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2400
Dustin and Glenn entered the battle ring, watched closely by the audience. They stood about 30 feet apart, their eyes locked in an intense stare that felt electric.
“Are you Logan?” Glenn asked, breaking the silence. He had heard rumors about this mysterious fighter before the match, but now that he faced him, he felt uncertain.
“Who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is who wins this fight,” Dustin replied, leaving no doubt in Glenn’s mind about his identity.
Both men were top-ranked on the Legendary List and held equal status on the Champ-Tier List. No one could predict who would win until they fought.
“I heard you’re Seth’s disciple. I’m really looking forward to this,” Glenn said, his eyes narrowing. Years ago, his mentor, Cyrus, had lost to Seth, and that defeat still haunted him. Now, with both men’s disciples about to clash, Glenn was determined to settle that score.
“I’m also eager to see your Sword Union’s skills,” Dustin replied with a grin. So far, his opponents, including Abigail, hadn’t pushed him to his limits. But Glenn was different—he sensed that this fight would be a true challenge.
None of Dustin’s peers had come close to matching his abilities. If he didn’t give it his all in this match, he wouldn’t stand a chance.
“Are both contestants ready? Then let the final match for the Combat Tournament championship begin!” Oron announced, and the crowd erupted in cheers.
Half of the spectators chanted Dustin’s name, while the other half shouted for Glenn. Both fighters had gathered a strong following. One was the undefeated top-ranked expert on the Legendary List.
and the other was a dark horse who had already knocked out the second-ranked fighter, Abigail, to reach the finals.
Who would have the advantage? No one knew for sure, and that uncertainty made the match thrilling.
“Show me what you’ve got,” Dustin said confidently. He raised his hand and made a swift motion. The Celestial Blade soared through the air and landed solidly in his grip. By drawing his sword at the start of the match, he showed respect for Glenn’s strength.
“Blacknight! Green Fang! Red Tempest! Go!” Glenn was ready too. He lifted his sword finger, and three divine swords shot out from his sword case. They hovered in the air, their edges glinting dangerously.
In his earlier fight with Fenley, Glenn had held back. But now, he was giving everything he had.
“Get a few more men to reinforce the formation!” Oron, watching from the sidelines, felt uneasy with the razor-sharp energy in the ring. He quickly called over three masters from Sacred Wyrm Summit and positioned them at each corner to help stabilize the defensive formation.
This was the championship match, after all. The power unleashed by Dustin and Glenn was far stronger than anything seen in the earlier rounds.
If the two grandmaster swordsmen weren’t careful, even a small mistake could break the defensive formation. If that happened, the spectators could be in danger.
“Activate it now!” Oron commanded. The masters from Sacred Wyrm Summit joined their energies to activate the defense formation around the ring. A bright flash erupted, and a pale blue shield appeared, wrapping around the entire ring like a giant eggshell.
As the defensive formation solidified, Dustin and Glenn seemed to understand each other without words. Then, they launched their attacks at the same time.
“Attack!” Glenn shouted, pointing his sword finger.
Dustin faced a sudden attack as three divine swords of different colors shot toward him from all directions. Each sword sped up and gained power as they approached, feeling like they could break anything in their path.
“Perfect timing!” Dustin grinned and swung his Celestial Blade three times. Three black sword auras shot out and collided with the divine swords in midair.
The impact created powerful blasts that shook the air, sending waves of energy rippling outward. The shockwaves slammed against a blue barrier, hitting it with the force of a crashing wave.
Dustin’s sword auras couldn’t stop the divine swords, but they slowed them down. Seizing this moment, he transformed into a blur of black lightning and charged at Glenn, aiming his sword straight for his chest.
“Skybound! Shadowedge! Earthshaper! Go!” Dustin shouted.
Glenn quickly reacted, raising his sword finger. Three more divine swords shot out from their case, heading straight for Dustin.
“Tantrumia Slash!” Dustin flicked his wrist, causing the Celestial Blade to shake in his grip.
A powerful vortex swirled around him, pushing outward with intense force. When Glenn’s divine swords hit the vortex, they were yanked off course, flying past Dustin and narrowly missing him.
“Huh?” Glenn raised an eyebrow in surprise. Dustin’s swordsmanship was impressive, just as he had expected from Seth’s disciple.
“Fang Master! Go!” Glenn quickly summoned the divine sword, Fang Master, from its case, and it landed smoothly in his hand.
As Dustin lunged toward him, Glenn raised his sword to block the attack, guarding his vital points. The Celestial Blade collided with Fang Master, sending a jolt of energy through Glenn.
Dustin felt a strong push as he was hit, stumbling back several steps. Just when he was ready to attack, he noticed six divine swords coming at him from behind. Three were aimed at his upper body, and the other three targeted his lower half.
Realizing he would be vulnerable if he continued forward, Dustin decided to stop. He drew his sword to defend himself and skillfully dodged, blocked, and parried the incoming attacks.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Glenn made his move. With his sword, Fang Master, raised high, he jumped into the fight, launching a powerful counterattack against Dustin.
