An Understated Dominance - Chapter 254
“Wait here and don’t run off. I don’t want you to cause us any trouble. Got it?” she said coldly.
“They have highly skilled fighters. Your men won’t be able to handle them,” Dustin replied flatly.
“Ha! What a joke! I’ve fought in countless battles. A rookie like you will never understand how strong we are.” Her expression grew even colder.
“Having confidence is good, but don’t be too blind. There’s always someone better out there,” he reminded her.
“Shut your nonsense. Just stay here like I told you. I won’t forgive you if you ruin our operation!” she shouted before jumping into the fight.
Dustin didn’t say anything more. He narrowed his eyes and stared silently at Fletcher. Behind him sat a few martial artists in strange clothes. From their breathing patterns, Dustin could tell they were top low-level fighters, with two already at high-level.
“So he has backup. No wonder he’s so bold.” Despite his men falling, Fletcher looked amused.
It didn’t matter to him if they lost; they were just cannon fodder. The real fighters were right behind him. There weren’t many of them, but they were all ranked on The Hundred Immortals.
Especially the twin brothers, Darkwrath and Lightwrath, who were ranked seventh and eighth, respectively. They practiced dark arts, and their moves were deadly. When they fought alone, they were in the top ten. When they teamed up, their power doubled.
Besides the twins, another highly skilled martial artist was hidden in the villa. This person was ranked third on The Hundred Immortals—Judge. Whenever Judge appeared, only a few could stand a chance against him.
A trail of death awaited those who challenged the Harmon family. No matter how many fighters the Hummer family sent, they were destined to fail.
After a fierce battle, hundreds of the Hummer family’s fighters lay defeated on the ground. In contrast, the Harmon family’s shadow guards had only lost one member and had just five injuries, making their losses seem small.
“Hmph! You dare kidnap Ms. Harmon with these pathetic weaklings? You should have known better!” Istrid exclaimed proudly. With a swift motion, she flicked her sword, sending droplets of blood flying. She looked strong and impressive.
“Wow! The Harmon family’s shadow guards really are something!” Fletcher said with a smile, clapping his hands.
“Now that you know our strength, why haven’t you released the hostage?” Istrid demanded, pointing her sword at him.
“The person you’re looking for is right here in this cage. Come save her yourself if you dare,” Fletcher replied, kicking over the dog cage. The woman inside flinched in fear, her messy appearance making it hard to recognize her.
“Ms. Harmon?” Istrid’s face turned serious as she rushed forward with her team. When they reached the cage, Istrid drew her sword and sliced through the chains with a loud clang.
“Ms. Harmon! Are you alright?” she called out.
Istrid opened the metal door, ready to rescue the woman inside, when suddenly, the woman flashed an evil grin. With a quick wave of her hand, she released a cloud of yellow powder that was highly toxic. Anyone who inhaled it would be in serious danger.
Istrid’s eyes widened in shock, and she quickly stepped back, covering her mouth and nose to avoid breathing in the deadly dust.
“Ha! You reacted quickly. You almost fell into my trap,” the woman chuckled, brushing her hair aside to show her pale and unfamiliar face.
“Who are you?” Istrid asked, her brow furrowed. She was glad she had dodged just in time; otherwise, she could have been in serious danger.
“That’s not important. What matters is how much your head is worth,” the woman replied, launching another attack by thrusting her knife forward.
“Hmph!” Istrid’s longsword shook as it cut through the woman’s arm and, at the same moment, pierced her chest with incredible speed.
“So fast!” The woman’s eyes widened in shock as she fell backward.
