Chapter 3380
– While being the head of a family offers numerous advantages compared to pursuing their own careers, both Liberty and Kathryn opted for the latter.
The elevator carried them to the first floor.
Once they exited the elevator, they shifted to a lighter topic and walked out of the office building, chatting and laughing.
Kathryn stood at the entrance of the building, watching as Liberty got into her car and drove away. After Liberty left, Kathryn entered her own car and followed suit.
No one knew the details of their conversation; they only noticed that the two were laughing and talking when they emerged.
In winter, darkness falls quickly.
Lights were already on in every house, but in the unlit areas, it was so dark that one couldn’t see their hand in front of their face.
Kathryn headed straight back to the city but did not go home. Instead, she met a client as per her evening schedule.

she chose to ignore it and acted as if she were unaware.
If her mother enjoyed making surprise visits, so be it. She hadn’t done anything wrong, so there was no reason to worry about her mother’s unexpected appearances.
The one who should be concerned, anxious, and fearful was Marco.
Marco was unaware that Clarissa had returned suddenly.
With no social engagements scheduled for the evening, he returned to his villa after work. Holden informed him that the ingredients were ready for hotpot that night and asked him to bring his two younger brothers over for a family meal.
The three brothers returned one after another.

None of them brought their wives.
Erika was getting a divorce and had already moved back in with her parents, making it impossible for her to return with Marco.
Although Noel and Sage were not divorced, they chose not to bring their wives. Both felt that their wives were aligned with Kathryn, and whenever the four of them gathered, they would inevitably complain, fearing their wives would relay the information to Kathryn.
Marco and his two brothers were particularly apprehensive about their mother, as they had a closer relationship with Holden.
Hearing the sound of a car, Holden stepped out of the house.
“Dad,” Marco called out as he parked the car, got out with some items, and walked toward Holden. “It’s cold; what are you doing out here? You should go back inside.”
“I get bored staying home all day, so I take walks from time to time,” Holden replied.
Although Holden’s injuries had healed, he had returned to his routine, albeit without the ability to socialize with women.
“What did you buy?” Holden asked, reaching for the items Marco was carrying. Upon seeing Noel and Sage’s cars arriving, he smiled a bit more.
“Dad, I brought something for you,” Marco said as he turned to look back. “Let’s head inside first; it’s cold out here, and this isn’t the first time Noel and Sage have come by.”
Holden remarked, “Are you all coming back alone? You didn’t bring your wife, and they both came here solo? It’s understandable that you didn’t bring your wife, but you also left two of my grandchildren behind. I’ll talk to Sage later about helping him with the kids. That way, I won’t be bored at home. I can assist him with school runs every day, so he can have a little break.”
“Is your mother not back yet?” Holden shifted the topic to ask about Clarissa’s condition.
After his discharge from the hospital,
Clarissa declined to visit him and did not permit him to return to the Farrell family mansion. There was no divorce, yet the bond between husband and wife was severed.
