Chapter 3382
On the surface, it appeared that Shiloh’s biological mother and brother were responsible for her death, but in reality, it was Clarissa and the others who were to blame.
Holden was acutely aware of this, yet he felt powerless to seek justice for Shiloh. He felt like an ant caught on Clarissa’s chopping block, completely at the mercy of others.
“Not only was Shiloh exploited by your mother, but she was also driven to her death by them. Your mother, Kathryn, and Liberty all came from Wiltspoon, right? It was them and your wife. They couldn’t bear to see Shiloh improve and forced my daughter to die,” Holden said, his voice thick with emotion.
“Dad,” Marco said, feeling uneasy.
His feelings toward Shiloh were complex. Initially, he viewed her as a sister, but over time, his feelings evolved into something more romantic.
“Dad, please stop. If someone takes a picture of us and shows it to my mom, we’ll be in serious trouble.”
Though this villa was registered under Marc’s name, Marco couldn’t be certain that no one would snap secret photos.
For instance, when he had previously brought Shiloh to stay in the wedding house where he and Erika had married, someone had taken pictures of them. Those photos had been given to Erika, prompting her to flee and create a scene.
Holden quickly turned his face away, raising a hand to wipe his eyes.
“Let’s not discuss Shiloh anymore. It makes me sad to think about her. I feel useless. I can’t seek justice for Shiloh right now. You three brothers need to be more resolute. If you can’t confront your mother and Kathryn, can’t you at least take out your frustrations on Liberty?”
Marco wanted to express that he had already vented his anger, but the words wouldn’t come.
At that moment, the two younger brothers approached.
The conversation between the father and his sons paused for a moment.
“Dad, big brother,” Noel and Sage chimed in as they returned with various items.
They had brought food and drinks, as well as gifts for their aging father, Holden.
All three brothers were aware that their father had undergone a self-castration to salvage his marriage. As men and as sons, they naturally supported him. They felt sympathy and sorrow for their father, but they couldn’t express these feelings openly. They recognized that their father was now akin to an eunuch and were concerned about damaging his self-esteem. Thus, they found alternative ways to bring joy to him.
Holden remarked, “I asked you to come back for hot pot, and everyone has brought so much. I live with your eldest brother, who has no worries about food or clothing. He lacks nothing. You can come over later; there’s no need to bring so many things. If you have money, just give me some.”
He was old and disabled.
Changes within the Farrell family were inevitable.
Holden hoped to save some money from his sons for his retirement. If the family structure shifted, his sons might not fare well.
Even if they did not seek failure, once the Farrell Group changed hands, they would be pushed out if they lacked the necessary skills. It would then become challenging for them to earn as much as they currently did.
However, they spent money freely and had developed a habit of lavish spending.
This unsustainable lifestyle would soon lead to failure.
He would take whatever money he could get.
After all, he had been dominated by his wife for decades and hadn’t accumulated much wealth.
In recent years, his children had been generous with him.
He had enjoyed a carefree life, but after being caught cheating, his wife had once again cut off his financial resources.
He didn’t want his children to give him too much money; he didn’t even have a thousand.
He currently has cash on hand, but there is no money in the bank.
