Chapter 3461
Liberty nodded and said, “I believe that both Seren and I will continue to improve our lives.”
Even if Serenity married Zachary, Liberty thought her own life would be quite good. Serenity had always been exceptionally kind to her.
“Cousin, you rushed over here last night, and you must be tired. Go back to the hotel and rest for a bit. I don’t think Clarissa will take any action against us for now,” Liberty suggested, urging Clive to return to the hotel for some rest.
“It’s true that Clarissa wants to harm me, but she’s also afraid. In fact, she likely has larger ambitions and intends to target all of us at once,” Liberty remarked, having a solid understanding of Clarissa’s mindset.
Clive, who had come in a hurry and appeared somewhat fatigued, replied, “Okay, I’ll head back to the hotel for a while. Please call me if anything happens.”
“Of course,” Liberty assured him.
Not long after Clive left, Hayden arrived.
When Liberty’s secretary called her on the internal line, she stepped out to greet her visitor personally. However, as soon as she opened the office door, Hayden’s striking figure appeared before her.
“Hayden,” Liberty smiled warmly.
Hayden was dressed in a masculine style, looking very handsome. It was no surprise that many women who had once admired Liberty found it hard to let go of their feelings for Hayden, even after discovering she was actually a woman.
The main reason was her undeniable attractiveness.
After playing the role of a man for over twenty years, distinguishing reality from performance had become difficult.
“Sister Liberty,” Hayden replied calmly, and at Liberty’s invitation, she confidently entered the office.
Liberty’s secretary watched as Hayden disappeared from sight, still taken aback by her presence.
As she gazed at Hayden, she couldn’t help but whisper, “Miss Queen is so handsome!” With his cold demeanor and striking looks, Hayden truly was the most attractive man among men. Sadly, she was always just a woman. Even if Hayden were a man, it wouldn’t be the secretary’s chance, so why was she so infatuated with him? The secretary averted her gaze and offered a self-deprecating smile. Hayden had only come by to check on Liberty and see if she needed anything.
…
In the hospital, after finishing breakfast, Kathryn fell asleep once more. Although she would wake intermittently, she still preferred to sleep. She strongly suspected that Clarissa had given her a significant dose of sleeping pills.
“Madam Farrell.”
Just as Kathryn was about to drift off again, she heard Pedro speaking. His respectful call jolted her back to consciousness. Blinking, she opened her eyes, still feeling dazed.
In her line of sight was a familiar face. Clarissa stood beside Kathryn’s hospital bed, her expression gloomy and cold as she stared at Kathryn, who appeared confused. Meanwhile, Pedro stood protectively on the opposite side of the bed.
“Mom?” Kathryn blinked and exclaimed.
Clarissa raised her hand, preparing to slap Kathryn, but a strong hand seized her wrist. It was Pedro, gripping Clarissa’s wrist firmly.
