-The reason Tatum was from Wiltspoon was that it was too far for them.

Elora was acutely aware that the elders in her family disapproved of her and her sister marrying someone from a distant place.

Currently, the family business was primarily managed by her and Alonzo.

The younger and less capable third and fourth sisters were not yet ready to take over the family business.

If her two younger brothers were unable to assume control of the family business during their teenage years, she and Tinsley would need to work diligently for the family’s sake.

Elora had invested considerable time and endured many hardships to establish her position in the business world and attain her current standing.

Tinsley smiled and remarked, “Sister, I also mentioned that I don’t love Tatum. Let’s not dwell on these vague topics. Even though we’ve learned about Tatum’s background, we still don’t know him well. Why overthink it? Have you been eating properly lately?”

Elora replied, “Someone is making sure I eat, so my stomach feels much better. Don’t worry about me. Just stay home and manage the company. If you have any questions, call me.”

Tinsley said, “The Labbe family from the neighboring city wants to collaborate with us. Mr. Labbe has approached me twice, but the discussions haven’t gone well. I’m not keen on working with the Labbe family.”

Tinsley continued, “I always get the feeling that Mr. Labbe isn’t a good person. I dislike the way he looks at me; it feels like he has ulterior motives.”

Elora’s expression turned serious. “If you’re not interested in collaborating, there’s no need to continue negotiations. The Labbe family has a history of scandals. Mr. Labbe is known for being ungrateful, and the family has recently undergone significant changes. Furthermore, even though Mr. Labbe holds the title of head of the family, he is merely acting in that capacity.

He lacks the Labbe family’s dragon totem and does not possess the authority of the true family head.

Mr. Labbe possesses a special seal or token, which allows him to be the acting head of the family. However, the family is not as united as it appears; they are merely fearful of him.

Mr. Labbe is particularly lecherous. He has previously attempted to test my boundaries, expressing a desire to collaborate with us while also wanting me to be his woman. He claimed he could divorce his wife and marry me, as if being his wife were a great honor. He also suggested that if our two groups joined forces, we would form a formidable alliance, invincible in the business realm.

The Mr. Labbe that Elora and Tinsley discussed is the same one who supported Carrie. After I rejected his advances, he sought to undermine us in business as retaliation. However, after I fought back, he became submissive.

Elora has risen to prominence as a woman and now supports the Ormond family. She is not easily intimidated. Mr. Labbe underestimated her youth, thinking she would be an easy target for his business dealings and personal desires. Yet, Elora taught him a lesson, demonstrating that even though the Ormond family has few male members, its daughters should not be underestimated.

The Ormond family has always been a leading force. Once Elora secured her position, she built a strong network of contacts. After facing resistance from her, Mr. Labbe realized she was not someone to be trifled with and behaved himself for several years.

However, unexpectedly, while Elora was away on a business trip, Mr. Labbe made a comeback and tried to persuade Tinsley to collaborate with him during Elora’s absence. His greed led him to attempt to exploit Tinsley.

Tinsley, however, is not naive. While she may not hold the same authority as Elora, she is equally astute.

Smart.

Mr. Labbe’s hopeful thinking was progressing well, but it was about to take a turn for the worse.

“If he comes back, I will clearly tell him that I won’t cooperate and that I don’t want to see him again.”

Tinsley felt uncomfortable with the way Mr. Labbe looked at her.

Though he was elderly, he behaved like a lecherous old man.

His words seemed serious, but there was an undertone of teasing.

This is what made Tinsley feel disgusted.

Unable to hold back, she found herself venting to Elora.
