Chapter 3564
– Even if Clarissa were to pass away, she was determined to secure her fortune before doing so.
This plan had a greater likelihood of success. Audrey and the others would attempt to escape, but unless they reached the rooftop where a helicopter might be waiting, they wouldn’t be able to flee. To ensure this, Clarissa intended to have the rooftop door welded shut to prevent their escape.
Mr. Dunn paused for a moment before reminding Clarissa, “If that occurs, the young lady may refuse to assume the role of head of the family. If she declines, the head of the family will have died in vain. Without a successor, the position could fall to someone else.”
Without hesitation, Clarissa responded, “If it comes to that, Kathryn will take charge. She may be strict, but she won’t let everything slip away. Additionally, the people from Wiltspoon won’t unite. Serenity won’t show up, and even Elisa might not attend. They are focused on preparing Liberty for leadership.”
Serenity and Liberty still have heirs, so it would come down to whose descendants would take over.
Clarissa was confident that Kathryn would prevail.
Kathryn had been working alongside her for two years, gaining valuable experience in managing the Farrell Group and the Farrell family. She was more seasoned than Serenity and Elisa.

Clarissa also recognized that Elisa had no interest in taking over; her personality wasn’t suited for leadership.
As for Serenity, she was expecting a child. Would she really come here in her condition to compete with Kathryn? It seemed unlikely. Serenity had been trying to conceive for a year after marrying Zachary and was very protective of her pregnancy.
“We’ll see how things unfold. We’ve prepared for…
“Several plans are in place, so at least one should succeed.”
“When Mr. Janzen arrives, I must meet him.”
Clarissa was eager to ask Fernando in person—did he truly have no feelings for her whatsoever?
She had once been young and beautiful. Though her abilities were not as strong as her older sister’s, they were still commendable. So why had he never noticed her?
Mr. Dunn responded, “Madam, there’s no need for you to seek him out. He will come to you.”
Clarissa hesitated briefly before offering a bitter smile. “You’re right.”
If Fernando followed Audrey back to Jensburg, his first stop would be to pay his respects to Clarissa’s elder sister, after which he would confront Clarissa.
How much evidence did he possess against her?
Clarissa was uncertain.
However, it was clear that Fernando had been involved back then.
Naturally, if he lacked solid proof that she had killed her sister, she would never admit to it; she might even turn the situation around and accuse him instead.
If Fernando claimed she had sent assassins after him, did he have any evidence?
Without proof, he couldn’t take any action against her.
Who had saved Fernando at that time, and were those individuals still alive?
Even if they were, would anyone believe them?
As Clarissa and Mr. Dunn discussed their scheme over dinner, Kathryn remained oblivious.
When Pedro returned, Kathryn was waiting for him. As soon as he entered, she asked, “What did my mother say to you? I’m worried she’ll try to keep you from staying with me.”
In her mother’s eyes, Pedro was her main support. Without him by her side, Kathryn would face significant challenges.
Pedro hesitated before responding. He poured himself a glass of water, drank it, and then sat down across from Kathryn. He took a packet of powder from his trouser pocket and handed it to her.
Kathryn accepted it and inquired, “What’s this?”
Pedro replied, “Madam asked me to…”
Incorporate it into your soup so that you can sleep for a while. You will wake up naturally once everything is finished.”
Kathryn was on the verge of opening the packet to examine its contents but paused.
