Chapter 3604
Although they had stopped twitching and returned to normal, they still needed to take the antidote developed by Lilian to achieve a full recovery. However, even after that, they would not feel completely well; discomfort would linger for a day or two afterwards.
Is this person truly a doctor?
More like a poison specialist.
Lilian observed that they had ceased twitching, and before they could rise, she stepped forward to collect her needles.
No one dared to speak.
Those small needles, containing just a trace of poison, had left them thrashing about as if experiencing seizures.
“Antidote!”
After Lilian removed the needle from Clarissa, Clarissa seized one of her wrists.
With a fierce glare and gritted teeth, Clarissa demanded, “Dr. Carden, give me the antidote!”
The pain and humiliation she had just endured were intolerable. Clarissa wanted to avoid experiencing it again. All she desired was for the antidote to quickly eliminate the poison from her system.
Lilian shook her hand free and replied, “Get in line, from youngest to oldest. Since you are the eldest, you must go to the back of the line. No one is allowed to cut in. Don’t even think about lying about your age. If I discover you have lied, I won’t give you any medicine—not today, not tomorrow, not ever.”
She continued, “I don’t have much antidote today. I can only provide each of you with a quarter dose, so you will need to continue taking it for the next three days.”
Clarissa’s expression darkened with anger; she felt that Lilian was deliberately humiliating her.
Audrey noticed Clarissa’s fuming expression and whispered to her husband, “Dear, since Dr. Carden arrived, we have always treated her with respect, haven’t we? Consider carefully—have we ever offended her or overlooked her in any way?”
Dr. Carden seemed approachable and was also quite beautiful, but when trouble arose, even a strong man might find it challenging to manage.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Darrell quietly responded, “No, absolutely not. We have always treated Dr. Carden with the utmost respect.”
They were aware that Lilian was the apprentice of the renowned doctor, who had passed on his remarkable medical expertise to her.
Consequently, whenever Lilian visited Wiltspoon, those fortunate enough to meet her treated her with great reverence, as a distinguished guest.
How could they even think of offending her?
Everyone falls ill at some point.
Who wouldn’t want to befriend someone like Dr. Carden, who had such exceptional medical abilities?
It’s simply common sense—everyone wanted to maintain a positive relationship with Dr. Carden, in case they or their family required treatment in the future.
Camryn had been blind for a decade, but Dr. Carden restored her sight with just one operation.
Lilian had already clarified that Camryn’s eyesight was partially restored due to her predecessors’ efforts; the credit was not solely hers.
However, if Lilian hadn’t been called in to treat her, Camryn wouldn’t have regained her sight so swiftly.
She had also uncovered other factors contributing to Camryn’s condition.
“Dr. Carden,” Clarissa said, suppressing her frustration, “I apologize for my earlier behavior. I shouldn’t have allowed anyone to obstruct your path, nor should I have let my bodyguards disrespect you. Dr. Carden, you are incredibly generous and forgiving. Please don’t hold any resentment against an old woman like me. Dr. Carden, could you kindly provide me with the antidote?”
Lilian responded, “I told you to get in line for the medicine. Can’t you hear me? Or do you not understand what I’m saying?”
Clarissa was rendered speechless.
Her bodyguards had already formed a line according to
Clarissa glanced at Audrey. Audrey gazed up at the sky. Darrell followed suit and looked up at the sky as well. Clarissa was so furious that she ground her teeth, but to endure the situation, she positioned herself behind her bodyguards. As she waited, a fire ignited within her. Even if Lilian appeared as powerful as she claimed, could she truly guide everyone out of the inferno when surrounded by flames?
