Chapter 3606
As soon as they disembarked from the plane, they headed directly to the Farrell family cemetery. No one had eaten yet, and they were all feeling hungry.
“Master, I’ll take Miss Audrey to eat first. We’ve been flying for several hours and came here immediately after landing. I’m starving. By the way, there’s also Lilian. You might not know her, but she’s my apprentice, even though I haven’t officially taken her on as one. She is actually the apprentice of the miracle doctor. I don’t want to take someone else’s apprentice, so I just teach her some martial arts in my spare time. That’s all.
In my heart, she is still my apprentice. She is a very sensible and capable girl. I brought her here to burn incense for you and to introduce her to you. I am alive today and able to return to see you because of the miracle doctor and Lilian.
In the past, the miracle doctor invested a lot of effort in me, and later, it was Lilian who helped me. For my health and to help me live longer, she has done so much. They are both my benefactors.”
Mr. Jimenez turned to Lilian and said, “Lilian, please burn some incense for my master so he can take a good look at you.”
Lilian cast a warning glance at Clarissa and the others before walking over to burn incense for Mr. Jimenez’s master.
Audrey and Darrell kept a vigilant watch on Clarissa and the others, preventing any attempts to escape or launch a surprise attack.
Clarissa silently wondered what had happened to Mr. Dunn. Why hadn’t he started the fire?
Even if he didn’t initiate the fire, there should have been some movement by now.
Or perhaps he believed it wasn’t the right time?
Or maybe someone was ambushed near Audrey?
Lilian assisted Mr. Jimenez.
over.
Clarissa immediately ceased her speculation and directed her attention to Mr. Jimenez.
Audrey and Darrell then approached to pay their respects.
“Mr. Jimenez, it’s been decades since I last saw you, but you haven’t changed much,” Clarissa said softly.
Her eyes reddened as she continued, “You’ve aged considerably. You once walked with such majesty and confidence. As a child, I had to sprint to keep up with you. Now, it seems you need support. Time is indeed relentless.”
Mr. Jimenez stopped three steps away from Clarissa.
He fixed her with a cold stare and replied in an icy tone, “It’s a miracle I’m still alive. You sent countless killers after me, yet I survived. You were responsible for the death of the family head, the third young lady, Miss Audrey’s father, and her grandparents. And yet, you’re allowed to live to such an old age. Truly, God is unjust!”
Clarissa’s mouth twitched as she countered, “Me, old? I’m over twenty years younger than you! And you claim I killed my sisters? Do you have any proof? Who can corroborate that I did it? Did my sister tell you?”
Clarissa started to become emotional. “You keep bringing up my sister. It’s always about her in your eyes! Mr. Jimenez, my sister has been happily married for years. She and my brother-in-law share a wonderful relationship and have two beautiful daughters!
Their family of four is so joyful. My sister never loved you; she merely used you. Why are you so obsessed with her? You accuse me of wanting you dead, but how could I do that? I cared for you; how could I possibly order someone to hunt you down, Mr. Jimenez? This must be a misunderstanding. There has to be some misunderstanding.”
As long as no evidence was presented, Clarissa intended to deny everything and refuse to accept any blame.
She was eager to see what their next move would be.
If possible, she wanted to avoid dying alongside Audrey and the others.
