Chapter 3613
Liberty inquired, “Aunt, how did Dr. Carden attack? Were you surprised as well?”
Liberty recognized Lilian’s expertise in medicine, yet she was unaware of her martial arts skills. She envisioned Lilian as a character from a martial arts novel, capable of soaring through the air, reaching for objects from a distance, and even using leaves as weapons.
Audrey replied, “I couldn’t see how Dr. Carden attacked, but suddenly, Clarissa and her bodyguards were on the ground. Dr. Carden mentioned using a poison needle, but I have no idea how it worked.”
Liberty responded, “A poison needle?”
This concept reminded her of something from a martial arts tale.
“Uncle Jimenez said Dr. Carden excels not only in medicine but also in creating poisons. Fortunately, she doesn’t use them to harm anyone; otherwise, she would indeed be frightening,” Audrey said, feeling slightly uneasy about Lilian’s capabilities. “Uncle Jimenez also mentioned that she surpasses her master. It’s reassuring that she’s not our adversary.”
Liberty concurred, “That’s true.”
They all maintained good relations, primarily due to the connections established by the older generation. The alliances built by Old Mr. Jimenez enabled them to connect with influential individuals they had not yet met.
“Grandpa Jimenez met with Clarissa,” Liberty noted before pausing.
Audrey continued, “After their meeting, Uncle Jimenez accused Clarissa of murdering my mother. She, of course, denied it and demanded proof. We didn’t have any evidence at the cemetery to prevent it from being stolen or destroyed.”

My aim is to tarnish her reputation first, and then seek revenge for my mother’s death by taking her life. Even after forty or fifty years, I cannot forgive her for killing my mother, and…
“Letting her continue to live.”
Clarissa appeared ready to die alongside Audrey.
Audrey was waiting for Clarissa to make a move, knowing that if she did, it would lead to tragedy for both Clarissa and her children. Years earlier, Clarissa had attempted to eliminate every potential threat.
Audrey and Harlow were fortunate to escape with their nanny. Although they were separated from her and sent to an orphanage, they managed to survive.
Harlow passed away in middle age but left behind two daughters, Serenity and Liberty, which brought Audrey some solace. Now, as Audrey sought revenge, she wanted Clarissa and her children to face consequences for their actions.
However, Audrey wouldn’t strike first. Instead, she intended to allow Clarissa’s actions to lead to her own downfall, taking her children down with her.
As for Kathryn…
“Liberty, how is Kathryn?” Audrey inquired.
Liberty answered, “Kathryn has recovered and been discharged from the hospital, but she hasn’t returned to the company yet. Clarissa told her to rest at home, likely to prevent her from discovering her plans and warning me.
Clarissa also asked Pedro to drug Kathryn so she would fall asleep, allowing Pedro to take her out of Jensburg.
But Kathryn refused, and Pedro, who is loyal to her, didn’t comply. After leaving the hospital, Kathryn gave me the drug, and I had it tested.”
